M4A1-S | Flashback (Field-Tested)

The M4A1-S | Flashback (Field-Tested, FT) is a Restricted rifle skin with a hand-painted green finish and a retro, artistic look. Field-Tested is the everyday-value way to own it — a touch of honest wear on the paint for well under the higher grades.

Design

At its core the finish is a green, hand-painted design with a retro and artistic flavor, made by community studio Superior Weapons. The paint went on by hand in what its note frames as a suggestion about the duality of man, and it comes with a fitting in-game line: "For the joker in all of us."

M4A1-S | Flashback (Field-Tested) Float and Wear

Across the full 0.00–1.00 float range, Field-Tested lands in the middle. Here the green paint picks up light scratching along the edges and high-contact areas, and the hand-painted detail softens a little, though the overall artwork stays clearly readable. This is the grade most players settle on — the balance point between looks and cost.

M4A1-S | Flashback Rarity

Rarity: Restricted — the purple grade. It ranks above Mil-Spec and below Classified, placing it in the middle of the standard weapon tiers, a clear cut above the everyday blue skins.

M4A1-S | Flashback Case and Collection

This finish is part of The Glove Collection and drops from the Glove Case, released alongside the Glove Case update in November 2016. The Restricted tier unboxes at roughly 15.98% as a group (the odds are shared across the tier), and since the Glove Case remains in circulation, copies reach buyers through both unboxing and the open market.

The finish carries no random pattern variation: the green artwork is placed the same on each copy, so there's nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to track down. Copies differ from one another only by wear and float.

Does the Field-Tested Flashback look worn?

A little. Expect light scratching along the edges and high-contact spots, with the green paint slightly softened compared to the top grades — but the retro artwork still reads clearly in-game. Most players find the trade-off easy, since the design carries even with that honest touch of wear.

Is Field-Tested the best value Flashback?

For a lot of buyers, yes. It costs meaningfully less than Minimal Wear while keeping the design perfectly legible, and it's far more common on the market. Well-Worn (WW) and Battle-Scarred (BS) sit lower still if you want the cheapest entry and don't mind heavier scuffing on the paint.

Which gloves match the Flashback?
