M4A1-S | Golden Coil (Battle-Scarred)

The M4A1-S | Golden Coil (Battle-Scarred) is a Covert rifle skin with a golden-yellow body and an attacking-snake hydrographic, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into a top-tier gold M4A1-S design, trading surface condition for the lowest entry price.

Design

The Golden Coil keeps its concept simple: a warm yellow finish painted with a hydrographic of an attacking snake, a golden and elegant look from the community designer Kitch.sb. Its in-game line suits the serpent theme perfectly: "The viper can strike from anywhere."

M4A1-S | Golden Coil (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

Because the finish runs the full 0.00–1.00 float scale, Battle-Scarred reaches the extreme worn end. Here the damage shows openly — heavy scratching and paint loss spread across the body, and the gold thins out to a dull, weathered tone in places. The snake hydrographic survives as the anchor that keeps the skin identifiable even at its roughest.

M4A1-S | Golden Coil Rarity

Rarity: Covert, the red tier. It sits at the top of the standard weapon grades as the rarest class in the case, and that prestige is why even a Battle-Scarred copy stays a desirable M4A1-S skin.

M4A1-S | Golden Coil Case and Collection

The Golden Coil is part of The Shadow Collection and is unboxed from the Shadow Case, released together with the September 2015 update. The Covert tier drops around 0.64% of the time from the case (the rate is shared across the tier's skins), and because pulls are so scarce, the market — not unboxing — is where most copies come from.

M4A1-S | Golden Coil Patterns

Since the golden base and the attacking-snake hydrographic sit the same way on every copy, the finish has no random pattern variation — nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt for. The only things that tell copies apart are wear and float.

StatTrak & Souvenir

There is also a StatTrak™ M4A1-S | Golden Coil, which adds a confirmed-kill counter; it's rarer and pricier than the standard Shadow Case drop, and the counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. No Souvenir variant exists — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages, and the Shadow Case has never been a Major drop.

M4A1-S | Golden Coil Price

Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the skin — the entry-level way to run a Covert gold M4A1-S for players who care more about the design than a spotless surface. If you want the golden-snake look for as little as possible, this is the way in. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is the Battle-Scarred Golden Coil still recognizable?

Yes. Despite the heavy scuffing and dulled gold, the yellow base and the attacking-snake hydrographic keep the design readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear in exchange for the lowest price, not losing the finish's identity.

How worn does a Battle-Scarred Golden Coil actually get?

Quite worn — the finish runs the full float scale, so Battle-Scarred copies reach the extreme end with heavy scratching, paint loss, and a matte, weathered gold. Higher floats within the grade look rougher than lower ones, so it's worth checking the exact float before you buy if surface condition matters to you.

Which gloves go with the Golden Coil?

The golden-yellow palette still wants a warm loadout even here — gold, tan, or brown gloves tie into the theme, while black wraps sharpen the contrast against the weathered gold. Keeping the gloves in the yellow-to-brown range mirrors the finish's serpent-and-gold styling.
