M4A1-S | Mud-Spec (Battle-Scarred)

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec (Battle-Scarred)

The M4A1-S | Mud-Spec (Battle-Scarred) is an Industrial Grade rifle skin in a black-brown camo with a mud-splatter texture, in its most heavily worn state. It's the cheapest way into the finish, trading surface condition for the lowest entry price.

Design

At heart the finish is a black-and-brown camouflage dusted with a mottled mud-splatter texture — a rugged, weathered field look that trades busy graphics for earthy grit. Designed by the community artist SayChains, it ships with a fitting in-game line: "Backup has arrived."

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

This is the top-worn grade, and the finish is float-capped at 0.73 rather than the usual 1.0 — so Battle-Scarred copies never reach the most extreme end of the wear scale and the grade sits milder than on a full-range skin. The camo shows significant fading and heavy scuffing, with darker material showing through at the edges, but the mud-and-grime theme means even this reads as part of the look.

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec Rarity

Rarity: Industrial Grade, the light-blue grade. It sits near the foot of the standard weapon tiers and is a common drop — the reason the finish is so cheap to own.

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec Case and Collection

Mud-Spec belongs to The Anubis Collection, which debuted in the Anubis Collection update in April 2023. Tied to the Anubis map instead of a paid weapon case, the collection puts its copies into circulation through map-linked drops and the marketplace rather than case openings.

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec Patterns

The camo and mud-splatter texture appear the same on every copy, which means the finish has no random pattern variation — no paint seed or "blue gem" to seek out. Wear and float are the only things that tell one copy apart from the next.

StatTrak & Souvenir

There's no StatTrak variant, since StatTrak weapons are created exclusively inside weapon cases and Mud-Spec comes from a map collection rather than a case. The Souvenir version is the exception that does exist — first issued in the Paris 2023 Anubis Souvenir Package, as Souvenir weapons only ever come from Major-tournament packages.

M4A1-S | Mud-Spec Price

Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the finish — the entry-level way to run the camo for players who care about the look over the condition. On a budget skin to begin with, it's about the lowest price of entry you'll find. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is the Battle-Scarred Mud-Spec still recognizable?

Yes. Despite heavy fading and scuffing, the black-brown camo and mud-splatter texture keep the design readable at a glance. Because the finish is themed around mud and grime, the wear blends into the look rather than obscuring it, so it still plays clearly as Mud-Spec.

Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Mud-Spec look completely destroyed?

Because the finish is float-capped at 0.73 instead of the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies stop short of the harshest wear on the scale. Paired with a dark, muddy palette that hides damage, the grade stays more legible than many lighter skins do at their worst.

Which gloves suit the Battle-Scarred Mud-Spec?

Lean into the weathered, earthy palette — brown, tan or olive gloves match best. Worn-looking Hand Wraps or a desert-toned leather glove suit the rugged, battle-worn vibe and round out a coherent field loadout without fighting the camo.
