M4A1-S | Nightmare (Battle-Scarred)
The M4A1-S | Nightmare (Battle-Scarred) is a Classified rifle skin with a blue-and-cyan body and a frightening nocturnal figure in the paint, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into the design, trading surface condition for the lowest entry price.
Design
Nightmare keeps a dark, artistic mood: a frightening nocturnal visitor rising through cool blue and cyan tones, a custom paint job that fuses horror styling with modern design. Designed by the community artist Apel, it ships with a fitting in-game line: "Next time set an alarm."
M4A1-S | Nightmare (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
The finish spans the full 0.00–1.00 float range, and Battle-Scarred occupies the very top of it, so copies here can reach the extreme end of the scale. The wear shows openly — heavy scratching and paint loss across the body, with the artwork thinned in places. The nocturnal figure survives as the anchor that keeps the skin readable even at its roughest.
M4A1-S | Nightmare Rarity
Rarity: Classified, the pink tier. It sits directly below Covert as the second-highest of the standard weapon grades, and it's a genuinely uncommon grade to unbox.
M4A1-S | Nightmare Case and Collection
The Nightmare is part of The Horizon Collection and is unboxed from the Horizon Case, which released together with the A New Horizon update in August 2018. Across the case the Classified tier drops around 3.2% of the time (the rate is shared among the tier's skins), so for most players the market is a more reliable source than opening cases.
M4A1-S | Nightmare Patterns
Since the blue-cyan wash and the nocturnal figure sit the same way on every copy, this finish has no random pattern variation — no paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt for. The only things that tell one copy from the next are wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak™ M4A1-S | Nightmare is out there too, adding a confirmed-kill counter; it's rarer and pricier than the standard Horizon Case drop, and the counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. No Souvenir variant exists — Souvenir weapons are handed out only through Major-tournament packages, and the Horizon Case has never been one.
M4A1-S | Nightmare Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the skin — the entry-level way to run this M4A1-S design for players who care more about the look than the condition. If you want the eerie blue horror finish for as little as possible, this is the way in. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Nightmare still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy scuffing, the blue-and-cyan base and the nocturnal figure keep the design readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear in exchange for the lowest price, not losing the artwork's identity.
Why buy Battle-Scarred instead of a higher grade?
Purely for price. Battle-Scarred is the cheapest entry into the Nightmare, ideal if you want the finish in your loadout without paying for condition. The trade-off is obvious wear — scratches and paint loss across the body — so it suits players who prize the look and the saving over a fresh surface.
Which gloves go with the Nightmare?
Its blue-and-cyan palette suits a cool, dark loadout, so blue or teal gloves work best — a blue pair picks up the wash, while black or dark wraps keep the nocturnal mood. It sits well next to other blue-toned skins for a matching set.
