M4A1-S | Nightmare (Well-Worn)
The M4A1-S | Nightmare (Well-Worn) is a Classified rifle skin with a blue-and-cyan body and a frightening nocturnal figure in the paint, here in a more battered state. It's a cheaper route into a striking M4A1-S finish, with wear the dark base still partly hides.
Design
At its heart the finish is dream-horror: cool blue and cyan hues carrying a frightening nocturnal visitor, a custom paint job built on dark styling and modern design. It began as a community submission from the artist Apel, and it carries a fitting in-game line: "Next time set an alarm."
M4A1-S | Nightmare (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
This finish uses the full 0.00–1.00 float scale, and Well-Worn sits in the fourth band, near the top of that range. Expect clear scuffing and paint loss across the receiver, magazine, and edges where the artwork thins out. The nocturnal figure still anchors the look, but there's no pretending this is a fresh grade — it's for players who value price over a spotless surface.
M4A1-S | Nightmare Rarity
Rarity: Classified — the pink tier, positioned directly under Covert and second from the top of the standard weapon grades. Pulling one from a case is genuinely uncommon.
M4A1-S | Nightmare Case and Collection
Belonging to The Horizon Collection, the Nightmare drops from the Horizon Case that arrived with the A New Horizon update back in August 2018. The Classified tier as a group unboxes about 3.2% of the time (that odds figure is shared across the tier), so most copies reach players through the market rather than a case pull.
M4A1-S | Nightmare Patterns
The Nightmare carries no random pattern roll: the blue-cyan wash and the nocturnal figure are fixed in place on each copy, which means there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to track down. What separates copies is wear and float, nothing more.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak™ M4A1-S | Nightmare does exist and brings a confirmed-kill counter along; it's a scarcer, more expensive Horizon Case drop than the plain skin, and that counter is permanent — it carries over whenever the item is traded or sold. A Souvenir version was never produced, since Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages and the Horizon Case has never been a Major drop.
M4A1-S | Nightmare Price
Well-Worn sits near the bottom of the price ladder, below Field-Tested and above only Battle-Scarred — a budget way onto this design for players who won't pay the mid-grade premium. It's one of the cheaper routes to a genuine Nightmare in your loadout. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How rough does the Well-Worn Nightmare look?
Fairly rough. Expect visible scratches and thinning paint on the magazine and around the edges — more than Field-Tested but short of the heavy battering of Battle-Scarred. The blue base and the nocturnal figure keep it identifiable, so it still reads as a Nightmare in-game.
Is Well-Worn worth buying over Field-Tested?
Mainly if price is your top concern. Field-Tested looks a good deal better for a modest step up in cost, so most buyers prefer it. Well-Worn earns its place when you want the Nightmare design as cheaply as possible without dropping all the way to Battle-Scarred.
Which gloves go with the Nightmare?
Its blue-and-cyan palette suits a cool, dark loadout, so blue or teal gloves work best — a blue pair picks up the wash, while black or dark wraps keep the nocturnal mood. It sits well next to other blue-toned skins for a matching set.
