M4A1-S | Vaporwave (Well-Worn)
The M4A1-S | Vaporwave (Well-Worn) is a Covert rifle skin in purple and pink, marked by a Greco-Roman statue and warped retro imagery, here in a more battered state. It's a cheaper route into a premium M4A1-S finish, with heavier wear the busy artwork still partly disguises.
Design
At heart this is a retro-futuristic design from the community artist Blazer: purple and pink hues cover the body, and the rifle has been custom painted with a Greco-Roman statue alongside other distorted imagery from a bygone era. Its in-game line, "From a hypnagogic dream," fits the surreal mood.
M4A1-S | Vaporwave (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
At Well-Worn the finish shows clear scuffing and paint loss across the body and the high-wear edges, where the gradient thins out. The statue and the color still anchor the look, but there's no pretending this is a fresh copy. Notably, the finish never reaches the roughest end of the scale — see the Battle-Scarred grade for why — so even here it stays more legible than a full-range skin would.
M4A1-S | Vaporwave Rarity
Rarity: Covert, the red tier. It ranks at the top of the standard weapon grades and is the rarest class you can unbox aside from knives and gloves.
M4A1-S | Vaporwave Case and Collection
Vaporwave sits in The Gallery Collection and is unboxed from the Gallery Case, released together with the Armory update in October 2024. As a group the Covert tier drops around 0.64% of the time from the case (that odds figure is shared across the tier), so copies are scarce and mostly acquired on the market instead of from a case.
M4A1-S | Vaporwave Patterns
Because the color gradient, the statue, and the distorted imagery sit the same way on every copy, the finish has no random pattern variation — nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt. Wear and float are all that set one copy apart from the next.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also find a StatTrak™ Vaporwave from the Gallery Case, which brings a confirmed-kill counter along; it's a scarcer, costlier drop than the plain skin, and that counter is permanent — it carries over whenever the item is traded or sold. A Souvenir version was never made, because Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages and the Gallery Case has never been a Major drop.
M4A1-S | Vaporwave Price
Well-Worn sits low on the Vaporwave ladder, below Field-Tested and above only Battle-Scarred — a budget way into a Covert finish for players who won't pay the mid-grade premium. It's one of the more affordable routes to this artwork. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How rough does the Well-Worn Vaporwave look?
Fairly rough. Expect visible scuffing and paint thinning across the body and edges — more than Field-Tested but short of the heaviest battering. The purple gradient and the statue keep it recognizable, so it still reads clearly as Vaporwave in the game even at this level of wear.
Is Well-Worn worth buying over Field-Tested?
Mainly if price is your top concern. Field-Tested looks a good deal fresher for a modest step up in cost, so most buyers prefer it. Well-Worn makes sense when you want a Covert-tier M4A1-S as cheaply as possible without dropping all the way to Battle-Scarred.
Which gloves suit Vaporwave?
The color story rules here — purple or pink gloves lock into the gradient, while magenta or violet wraps lean into the retro-futuristic vibe. If you'd rather keep things understated, plain white gloves let the artwork stay the star of the loadout.
