M4A4 | Converter (Well-Worn)
The M4A4 | Converter (Well-Worn) is a Mil-Spec rifle skin with a red and black mesh hydrographic, shown in its most battered state. It's the cheapest way into the finish, trading surface condition for the lowest entry price on the ladder.
Design
Converter keeps things textural: a red and black mesh hydrographic wrapped around the M4A4, an industrial grid that swaps busy artwork for a rugged surface. It's a Valve in-house finish, and it comes with a wry line printed in-game: "Not so harmful after all..."
M4A4 | Converter (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
Well-Worn is the most weathered of the four grades this finish reaches, since the float scale here tops out at 0.40 rather than the full range. At this level scuffing and paint loss show clearly across the body and edges, though the red still anchors the look. For players who care about the color more than the condition, it's the design at its cheapest.
M4A4 | Converter Rarity
Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade, the blue base tier of the standard weapon grades. It's the most commonly unboxed tier of all, which is why the Converter stays so easy on the budget rather than commanding scarcity money.
M4A4 | Converter Case and Collection
Part of The 2018 Inferno Collection, the Converter arrived with September 2018's FACEIT 2018 update, tied to the reworked Inferno map. Being the base grade, Mil-Spec is the most common drop — around 79.92% of the time, a figure shared across the tier's skins. The set has no weapon case, so the skin is pulled from Inferno Souvenir Packages or simply bought secondhand.
M4A4 | Converter Patterns
The Converter carries no random pattern roll: the red and black mesh is applied uniformly to every copy, which means there's no seed or blue gem to seek out. Copies differ from one another only by their wear and float values.
StatTrak & Souvenir
No StatTrak edition of the Converter was ever produced, since that version originates only in weapon cases and this finish sits in a Major map collection instead. The Souvenir version is the one that exists — Souvenir weapons drop from Major souvenir packages, and the Converter has been in the Inferno Souvenir Package lineup since London 2018.
M4A4 | Converter Price
Well-Worn is the bottom rung of the Converter ladder, the cheapest grade of an already inexpensive finish. If you want the red-and-black mesh in your loadout for as little as possible, this is the entry point. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Well-Worn Converter still recognizable?
Yes. Even with clear scuffing and paint loss, the red-and-black mesh keeps the design readable at a glance in-game. Well-Worn is about accepting visible wear in exchange for the lowest price on the ladder, not losing the finish's identity — the color scheme still carries it.
Why is there no Battle-Scarred Converter?
The finish is float-capped at 0.40, and Battle-Scarred needs a float above 0.45. Since the game never rolls a copy that worn, the scale ends at Well-Worn, which becomes the most weathered grade the Converter can appear in — so the ladder simply has four rungs instead of five.
Is Well-Worn worth it over Field-Tested?
Only if you want the absolute lowest price. Field-Tested looks noticeably tidier for a modest step up in cost, so most buyers prefer it. Well-Worn makes sense when the goal is the cheapest possible copy of the design and heavier wear on the body doesn't bother you.
