M4A4 | Evil Daimyo (Field-Tested)
The M4A4 | Evil Daimyo (Field-Tested) is a Restricted rifle skin with a Japanese warlord theme — oni-mask and samurai artwork in red, black, and gold. Field-Tested is the most common and budget-friendly way to own it, with light honest wear the dark base mostly disguises.
Design
Built on a samurai-daimyo theme, the finish sets an oni mask and Japanese warlord motifs against a dark red-and-black base picked out with gold. It began as a Steam Workshop submission by The Honey Badger, and it carries a fragment of story text as its in-game line: "Carmen. I found him..." from The Oni and The Valkyrie Part 1.
M4A4 | Evil Daimyo (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
At Field-Tested the finish shows some scratching on the edges and raised parts of the body, but the dark red-and-black artwork absorbs it well, so most copies still look presentable at a glance. This is the grade most players land on for the design — a practical balance of appearance and cost, and by far the easiest grade to find on the market.
M4A4 | Evil Daimyo Rarity
Rarity: Restricted — shown in purple, positioned between Mil-Spec below it and Classified above it. As a mid-tier grade it turns up more often than Covert or Classified finishes but less than the common Mil-Spec drops.
M4A4 | Evil Daimyo Case and Collection
Evil Daimyo sits in The Falchion Collection and comes from the Falchion Case, which arrived with the Operation Bloodhound update in May 2015. The Restricted tier unboxes about 16% of the time as a group (shared across every skin in the tier), with the ★ Falchion Knife as the case's rare special item. Because the Falchion Case is out of active circulation, the market rather than unboxing is where most copies come from now.
M4A4 | Evil Daimyo Patterns
The design carries no random pattern variation — the samurai artwork is placed the same on every unit, so no paint seed or blue-gem hunt applies here. What separates copies is purely wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can find a StatTrak™ version too, which brings a confirmed-kill counter along; it's a rarer, more expensive drop than the standard skin, and that counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. A Souvenir edition doesn't exist — Souvenir weapons are produced solely from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and this finish comes from a regular case rather than any such package.
M4A4 | Evil Daimyo Price
Field-Tested is the value sweet spot of the range, cheaper than the Minimal Wear and Factory New grades while keeping the artwork clearly legible. Since Evil Daimyo is already an affordable mid-tier M4A4, this grade makes the samurai design especially accessible. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested look beat up?
Not really. There's visible edge wear on close inspection, but the busy red-and-black artwork and dark base hide it so the skin reads well in-game. It's a noticeable step down from Minimal Wear only under scrutiny — at gameplay distance the daimyo design still pops.
What's the cheapest way to get the Evil Daimyo look?
Field-Tested is the most affordable grade that still looks the part, but Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred sit below it if you want the lowest entry price and don't mind heavier scuffing. For most players Field-Tested is the sweet spot between price and appearance.
Is the StatTrak Field-Tested worth the premium?
Only if you like a live kill counter on your rifle. StatTrak carries a premium over the standard version, so you're paying extra for the tracker rather than any visual upgrade. If the counter appeals and you play M4A4 regularly, it's a fun extra; otherwise the standard skin looks identical for less.
