M4A4 | Urban DDPAT (Battle-Scarred)
The M4A4 | Urban DDPAT (Battle-Scarred, BS) is an Industrial Grade rifle skin in a gray urban digital camo, here in its most heavily weathered condition. It's the cheapest way into the tactical DDPAT look, trading surface condition for the lowest entry price.
Design
Boiled down, the finish is a gray urban Digital Disruptive Pattern: a DDPAT hydrographic that blankets the rifle in blocky, low-contrast gray pixels. It's a Valve in-house design, and it carries a dry in-game line to match — "By the time you're close enough to notice the pixels it's already too late."
M4A4 | Urban DDPAT (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
Battle-Scarred wears its damage openly, with heavy scratching and paint loss spread over the whole body and the camo thinned out in places. This finish caps at a float of 0.80, so it never reaches the very worst end of the scale, and the busy gray pixel grid keeps the pattern surprisingly legible even at its roughest. It's built for buyers chasing the lowest price.
M4A4 | Urban DDPAT Rarity
The grade is Industrial — the light-blue tier of the standard weapon ladder. It falls second from the bottom, directly above Consumer Grade, and as one of the more common tiers it keeps this skin, worn condition included, among the more affordable M4A4 options to own.
M4A4 | Urban DDPAT Case and Collection
Part of The Train Collection, the Urban DDPAT was introduced with the "Out with the old, in with the new" update in November 2013. It isn't tied to any weapon case — the finish instead reaches players through Train Souvenir packages from Major tournaments, or via the open market, rather than by unboxing a case.
M4A4 | Urban DDPAT Patterns
Since the DDPAT camo is a fixed hydrographic, it lands the same on every copy of this rifle, which means the finish has no random pattern variation at all. There's no paint seed or "blue gem" worth tracking down — the only traits that tell copies apart are their wear grade and float value.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There's no StatTrak variant of this rifle to be had. StatTrak versions originate only from weapon cases, and as this finish was never placed in one, a kill-counter build doesn't exist. The Souvenir version is the special edition that does — it first appeared in the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package, since Souvenir items come strictly from Major-tournament souvenir packages.

FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Urban DDPAT still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy scuffing and paint loss, the gray pixel camo keeps the design readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear in exchange for the lowest price rather than losing the look — the busy DDPAT grid holds together well even in this condition.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred copy look completely destroyed?
Two reasons. The finish is float-capped at 0.80 rather than the full 1.0, so its worst copies never hit maximum wear. On top of that, the muted gray camo and its dense pixel pattern naturally disguise damage better than a bright or simple finish, so it stays more legible than many worn skins.
Is Battle-Scarred the best way to get this skin cheaply?
If price is the only thing that matters, yes — it's the lowest-cost grade of the finish. You accept the most visible wear in return, but the gray camo hides that better than most, so you still get a clearly recognizable Urban DDPAT for the smallest possible outlay on this rifle.
