MP9 | Setting Sun (Minimal Wear)
The MP9 | Setting Sun (Minimal Wear) shows the same orange hydrographic hazard-symbol pattern just one step below the finish's cleanest state. It keeps nearly all of that vivid look for a little less money.
Design
The finish uses a hydrographic dip to spread nuclear hazard symbols across an orange base, aiming for a loud, warning-label visual on the MP9. Valve designed it, and it carries no in-game flavor quote.
MP9 | Setting Sun (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
With Setting Sun's float running the full 0 to 1.00 span, Minimal Wear falls just under the top grade. The hazard symbols and orange base still look close to fully saturated here, with only the lightest handling marks if any show up.
MP9 | Setting Sun Rarity
Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade — the blue tier, a step above the most common rarity classification in the game. It lands in the middle of the overall rarity scale.
MP9 | Setting Sun Case and Collection
Setting Sun is part of The Cache Collection, launched back in July 2014. There's no weapon case tied to it, so copies come through the collection's drop pool or trade-up rather than unboxing, and Souvenir versions have circulated since the ESL One Cologne 2014 Souvenir Package, with more added at subsequent Majors.
MP9 | Setting Sun Patterns
Every copy carries the identical hazard-symbol layout — there's no seed variation and nothing resembling a blue-gem pattern to hunt for on this finish. Only wear changes the look.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A regular finish and a Souvenir version both exist for Setting Sun, though it was never given a StatTrak edition. Souvenir supply runs entirely through Major-tournament packages, a separate track from the regular drop.
MP9 | Setting Sun Price
Minimal Wear sits just under Factory New on the ladder, keeping almost the same vivid look within this premium-tier finish for slightly less. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How much duller does Minimal Wear look than Factory New?
Barely at all. The orange base and hazard symbols still look nearly fully saturated at this grade, with at most a trace of light wear that's hard to notice during normal play.
Does Setting Sun have a Souvenir version?
Yes, though it comes from Major-tournament souvenir packages rather than the standard collection drop, dating back to the ESL One Cologne 2014 Souvenir Package. There's still no StatTrak edition of this finish.
Is Minimal Wear the smarter buy over Factory New?
For most players, yes — it looks nearly identical while typically costing a bit less, making it a strong middle-ground pick within this premium finish.
