Sawed-Off | Amber Fade (Well-Worn)
The Sawed-Off | Amber Fade (Well-Worn) is a Mil-Spec shotgun skin with a warm amber gradient over chrome, shown in a more weathered state. It's the cheapest way into the fade, trading surface polish for the lowest entry price.
Design
The finish is built by airbrushing transparent paints over a chrome base coat, giving a warm gradient that shifts from amber toward gold and leans on the metal's shine instead of any printed graphic. Valve made it, and it carries a fitting line in game: "This isn't just a weapon, it's a conversation piece."
Sawed-Off | Amber Fade (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
The finish is float-capped at 0.40, so Well-Worn is the most weathered grade it reaches — it never hits the extreme end of the scale the way an uncapped skin would. Across the 0.00–0.40 range this sits at the top, with clear scratching and the chrome base showing through in patches, though the amber tones keep the design readable.
Sawed-Off | Amber Fade Rarity
Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade, the blue tier at the bottom of the standard weapon grades. Being the most common class, it keeps even this worn grade cheap and easy to come by.
Sawed-Off | Amber Fade Case and Collection
Amber Fade comes from The Train Collection, first seen in November 2013, and no weapon case carries it. The blue Mil-Spec tier is the grade most likely to turn up in the collection's souvenir packages, so copies are gathered from the market rather than unboxed from a case.
Sawed-Off | Amber Fade Patterns
Because this is a fade, the seed can nudge how the gradient lands, but there's no established best-seed hierarchy or blue-gem variant to chase. The amber-to-gold run is effectively uniform copy to copy, which leaves wear and float as the only genuine differences.
StatTrak & Souvenir
This finish is available as a regular edition and a Souvenir one, and there is no StatTrak variant at all. StatTrak only gets minted through weapon cases, and Amber Fade never appeared in a case. Its Souvenir copies originate from Major-tournament packages, first at DreamHack 2013 and again in later Major packages.
Sawed-Off | Amber Fade Price
Well-Worn sits at the bottom of this finish's price ladder, below Field-Tested, making it the budget entry point for the amber design. If you care more about the look than a spotless surface, it's the cheapest way to run the fade. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How rough does the Well-Worn Amber Fade look?
Fairly weathered — expect visible scratching and stretches where the chrome base shows through, dimming the shine more than Field-Tested. The amber gradient still carries the design, so it stays recognizable in-game; you're accepting heavier wear in exchange for the lowest price on the finish.
Why doesn't Well-Worn look completely trashed here?
The finish is float-capped at 0.40 rather than the full 1.0, so its most worn copies never reach the battered look a Battle-Scarred skin would show. That cap keeps even the Well-Worn grade fairly legible, with the amber tones surviving through the scuffing.
Is Well-Worn worth buying over Field-Tested?
Only if price is your top concern. Field-Tested holds a brighter, less scratched gradient for a modest step up in cost, so most buyers lean that way. Well-Worn makes sense when you want the amber fade as cheaply as possible and don't mind the extra wear.
