SG 553 | Heavy Metal (Factory New)

The SG 553 | Heavy Metal (Factory New) is a Mil-Spec rifle skin with a black base, orange and yellow highlights, and three stars painted on the rear of the butt stock. Factory New shows that industrial paint job at its sharpest.

Design

Community artist de puiseau built Heavy Metal around a black body accented with orange and yellow highlights, finished off with three stars on the rear of the butt stock for a bold, industrial look. It carries the flavor line "One of these studs is the Turbo button, I just can't remember which…", a playful nod to the design's mechanical details.

SG 553 | Heavy Metal (Factory New) Float and Wear

Float on this finish runs the full range, from 0 all the way to 1.00, and Factory New sits right at the bottom. At this grade the black base and its orange-yellow accents show no scuffing at all, with the three stars still crisply defined — the sharpest this finish ever looks.

SG 553 | Heavy Metal Rarity

Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade, the blue tier and the most common grade on the standard rifle-skin ladder. It's an easy grade to find, which keeps this finish's price approachable.

SG 553 | Heavy Metal Case and Collection

Heavy Metal is part of The Snakebite Collection, released at the end of the Broken Fang update in May 2021, and it drops from the Snakebite Case. Mil-Spec skins from that case land around 79.92% of the time, one of the most common outcomes you can pull, since it's the entry-level tier shared across the whole rarity band.

SG 553 | Heavy Metal Patterns

The design is fixed — the black base, highlights, and three stars sit in the same place on every copy regardless of pattern index, so there's no seed to chase and no blue-gem variant. Wear and float are the only things that separate one copy from another.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak™ version of Heavy Metal exists, tracking confirmed kills on a counter that carries over through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir edition, since Souvenir weapons only ever come from Major-tournament packages, and this finish has never appeared in one.

SG 553 | Heavy Metal Price

Factory New sits at the top of the Heavy Metal price ladder, and the finish overall stays affordable mid-tier, matching its common Mil-Spec rarity. It's a way to get the industrial black-and-orange look in top condition without spending much. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is Factory New Heavy Metal worth the extra cost?

Given how affordable the finish already is, the step up to Factory New is a small one — you get zero scuffing and the sharpest possible look at the three stars and highlights. For most buyers on a budget, it's an easy upgrade rather than a real splurge.

When did the Heavy Metal come out?

It launched with The Snakebite Collection at the end of the Broken Fang update in May 2021, dropping from the Snakebite Case. It's remained a common, easy-to-find finish ever since, both from the case and on the market.

Is there a StatTrak SG 553 | Heavy Metal?

Yes, StatTrak copies exist and come from the same Snakebite Case. They add a permanent kill counter and cost more than the standard version shown here, since StatTrak drops are rarer than regular ones within the tier.
