SSG 08 | Death Strike (Battle-Scarred)

SSG 08 | Death Strike (Battle-Scarred)

The SSG 08 | Death Strike (Battle-Scarred) is a Classified bolt-action skin with an emperor scorpion and streaming sand painted across it, seen here at its roughest. It's the most affordable way to own this grail-tier design.

Design

Death Strike's artwork shows a custom-painted emperor scorpion with sand streaming around it, a bold desert scene rather than a flat color scheme. It's a Valve-made finish carrying the line "That's gonna sting..."

SSG 08 | Death Strike (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

This finish caps out at a float of 0.8 rather than the full 1.0, so Battle-Scarred here stays somewhat milder than the most extreme wear seen on uncapped skins. Even so, expect heavy scuffing and significant paint loss across the body, with only the boldest parts of the scorpion scene still clearly readable.

SSG 08 | Death Strike Rarity

Rarity: Classified, the pink tier — second from the top of the standard weapon grades and a genuinely uncommon rarity overall.

SSG 08 | Death Strike Case and Collection

This finish is part of The 2021 Dust 2 Collection, tied to Operation Riptide from September 2021. Its Classified tier drops at around 3.2%, and copies have also circulated through Souvenir packages issued at later Majors.

SSG 08 | Death Strike Patterns

The scorpion-and-sand scene is identical on every copy of this finish, so there's no paint seed to chase and no standout "blue gem" version. Wear and float remain the only real differences between copies.

StatTrak & Souvenir

Death Strike has no StatTrak edition, though a Souvenir version exists, first issued in the Stockholm 2021 Dust II Souvenir Package and reissued at several later Majors. Souvenir weapons are limited strictly to Major-tournament packages.

SSG 08 | Death Strike Price

Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade on the Death Strike ladder, the most accessible entry point into an otherwise high-end / grail-tier finish. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is the scorpion design still visible at Battle-Scarred?

Mostly, yes — the bolder shapes of the scorpion and sand streaks remain visible even with heavy scuffing, though the finer detail gets lost. You're trading crispness for the lowest price on a grail-tier finish.

Why isn't Battle-Scarred Death Strike at the absolute worst wear possible?

Because the finish is float-capped at 0.8 instead of the full 1.0, so even its roughest copies stop short of the most extreme damage the game allows, keeping it a bit more presentable than an uncapped skin at this grade.

Is Battle-Scarred a good way to own a grail-tier SSG 08 skin?

If budget is the main concern, yes — it's by far the cheapest way to get the Death Strike design into your inventory, even though the higher grades show off the scorpion artwork more cleanly.
