SSG 08 | Detour (Field-Tested)
The SSG 08 | Detour (Field-Tested) shows the same marker-on-white design with a bit of honest wear mixed in. It's a common, budget-friendly way to run this Mil-Spec finish.
Design
Valve built this finish around a plain white base coat, drawn over with dark permanent-marker scribbles for a raw, tactical look rather than a polished graphic. The contrast between the marker lines and the base is really the whole design.
SSG 08 | Detour (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
The finish floats between 0 and 0.43, and Field-Tested sits around the middle of that band. Expect the white base to pick up some visible grime and light scuffing, while the marker lines stay fairly readable despite the added wear, so the design doesn't get lost at this grade.
SSG 08 | Detour Rarity
Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade, the blue tier and the most commonly seen grade among standard weapon finishes in the game.
SSG 08 | Detour Case and Collection
The Detour is part of The Overpass Collection, tied to Operation Breakout's June 2014 launch, and it isn't a case drop — copies come out of the collection itself. Mil-Spec finishes like this one make up about 79.92% of that collection's drops as a tier.
SSG 08 | Detour Patterns
The marker artwork is fixed across every copy, so there's no pattern-seed variation or blue-gem angle to consider here. Condition and float alone tell copies apart.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There's no StatTrak Detour available at any wear. A Souvenir edition exists, though, debuting in the ESL One Cologne 2014 Overpass Souvenir Package and continuing to show up in later Major souvenir packages at subsequent tournaments.
SSG 08 | Detour Price
Field-Tested sits below Minimal Wear on the price ladder, giving up a little visual sharpness for a lower cost, which makes it a solid budget entry into the finish. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does Field-Tested wear hide the marker design?
Not really. You'll see some grime and light scuffing on the white base at this grade, but the dark marker lines themselves stay reasonably legible, so the overall look still reads clearly at typical in-game distances.
Why pick Field-Tested over Minimal Wear?
Mainly for the lower price. The visual difference is modest, and Field-Tested keeps the design recognizable while costing less, which makes it the more common choice for players who don't need a pristine float.
Is a Souvenir Field-Tested Detour common?
Souvenir copies exist at this wear, sourced from Major-tournament packages going back to the ESL One Cologne 2014 event and continuing at later Majors, so supply has built up over several years of tournament drops.
