What the StatTrak™ counter does

The StatTrak™ AUG | Fleet Flock (Battle-Scarred, BS) is the StatTrak™ copy of this skin — the same Classified finish, the same look, with a kill counter built into the model. The AUG carries PoignantEnvy's flock of birds gliding across pale clouds in gray and white, a calmer visual than the typical camo AUG skin. Battle-Scarred covers everything from 0.45 up to 1.00 float — the most heavily worn grade and the cheapest way into the skin.

What StatTrak™ changes about the price of the AUG | Fleet Flock

What the counter tracks is confirmed kills, shown as a running total on the model itself. It is tied to the item, not to the owner, so the number follows the skin from inventory to inventory and only ever goes up. A StatTrak™ Swap Tool moves a count between two StatTrak™ items of the same type, which is as close to a reset as the game allows.

Where a StatTrak™ copy comes from

The StatTrak™ premium comes from scarcity: far fewer copies exist at the same finish and exterior. It is the finish and the float that set the figure, though — the kill count on a given copy barely moves it either way.

This finish traces back to The Chroma 3 Collection and the Chroma 3 Case from the April 2016 Trichromacy update. StatTrak™ is settled at the drop: a copy either leaves the case with a counter or never has one, and it cannot be added afterwards.

Can the StatTrak counter on the AUG | Fleet Flock be reset?

No. The count only moves one way and stays with the item through every trade and sale. A StatTrak™ Swap Tool moves a count between two StatTrak™ items of the same type, which is as close to a reset as the game allows. It still cannot lower the number.
