USP-S | Caiman (Field-Tested)

USP-S | Caiman (Field-Tested)

The USP-S | Caiman (Field-Tested) is a Classified pistol skin custom painted with an image of a caiman, detailed to mimic the reptile's scales and eyes. Field-Tested is the most common way to own it, adding a touch of honest wear at a friendlier price than the cleaner grades.

Design

The Caiman is the work of community artist Zaphk, who covered the suppressed USP-S in detailing that mimics the scales and eyes of a caiman. Rather than a printed graphic, it's built on lifelike surface texture, blending realism with the pistol's tactical form.

USP-S | Caiman (Field-Tested) Float and Wear

Field-Tested lands in the middle of the finish's 0.00–0.40 float range. Here the skin picks up light scratching along the slide and edges, but the busy scale texture absorbs it well, so most copies still read cleanly at a glance. This is the grade most players settle on — a fair trade of looks for price.

USP-S | Caiman Rarity

Rarity: Classified — the pink grade, ranked directly beneath Covert and second from the top of the standard weapon tiers. Unboxing one is genuinely uncommon.

USP-S | Caiman Case and Collection

This finish sits in The Huntsman Collection and is unboxed from the Huntsman Weapon Case, which launched with the "The Hunt Begins" update in May 2014. The Classified tier as a group drops around 3.2% of the time from the case (the rate is shared across the tier's skins), and because the Huntsman Case is out of the active drop pool, supply stays fixed — the market, not unboxing, is where most copies come from.

USP-S | Caiman Patterns

Because the scale texture and eye detailing are placed the same on every copy, the Caiman has no random pattern variation — nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to track down. Copies differ only by wear and float.

StatTrak & Souvenir

You can also find a StatTrak™ USP-S | Caiman from the Huntsman Weapon Case; it adds a confirmed-kill counter that follows the item permanently through every trade or sale, and it's rarer and pricier than the plain drop. There's no Souvenir variant — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages, and the Huntsman Collection has never featured as a Major drop.

USP-S | Caiman Price

Field-Tested is the value sweet spot of the range — cheaper than Minimal Wear while keeping most of the look, since the textured surface hides light wear. It's a premium USP-S finish that still won't break the bank. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Does the Field-Tested Caiman look worn?

Only mildly. The dense scale texture masks light scratching, so a Field-Tested copy reads well from normal viewing distance, with wear visible mainly on the slide and edges up close. The eye detailing and overall caiman motif stay clear, which keeps the skin recognizable in-game.

Is Field-Tested the smart buy?

For most players, yes. It costs noticeably less than Minimal Wear yet keeps most of the visual quality thanks to the wear-hiding texture, and it's the most common grade on the market. Well-Worn is cheaper still — and, thanks to the finish's capped float, milder than a full-range skin's worst grade.

Which gloves match the Caiman?

Its earthy, reptilian look pairs best with olive or muddy-brown gloves that echo the caiman theme, keeping the loadout natural and cohesive. Muted tactical wraps also suit the suppressed USP-S without pulling focus from the skin's surface detail.
