USP-S | Cortex (Field-Tested)

The USP-S | Cortex (Field-Tested) is a Classified pistol skin with pink accents over a silver-and-black body in a biological, scientific-inspired motif. Field-Tested is the most common way to own it — a touch of honest wear on the base for well under the higher grades.

Design

At its core the finish pairs biological and scientific aesthetics: pink accents custom painted over a silver and black base. It began as a community submission from the artist Glasgow died, and it comes with a fitting in-game line: "Keep your head."

USP-S | Cortex (Field-Tested) Float and Wear

On the 0.00–1.00 scale, Field-Tested sits in the middle. The base picks up light scuffing along the slide and edges, and the pink accents lose a hint of their sharpness, but the design stays fully legible and the silver base masks some of the wear. This is the grade most players settle on for the balance of looks and price.

USP-S | Cortex Rarity

Rarity: Classified — the pink grade, ranked just beneath Covert and second from the top of the standard weapon tiers. Pulling one from a case is genuinely uncommon.

USP-S | Cortex Case and Collection

Part of The Clutch Collection, the Cortex drops from the Clutch Case that arrived in February 2018. The Classified tier as a group unboxes about 3.2% of the time (that odds figure is shared across the tier), so getting this specific finish from a case is even less likely than the tier rate alone.

USP-S | Cortex Patterns

The Cortex carries no random pattern variation: the pink accents and silver-and-black base sit the same on each copy, which means there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to track down. Copies differ only by wear and float.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak™ USP-S | Cortex does exist and brings a confirmed-kill counter along; it's a scarcer, more expensive Clutch Case variant than the standard skin, and that counter is permanent — it carries over whenever the item is traded or sold. A Souvenir version was never made, since Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages and the Clutch Case has never been a Major drop.

USP-S | Cortex Price

Field-Tested is the value sweet spot of the range — cheaper than Minimal Wear while keeping the design clearly intact, which fits this affordable mid-tier finish nicely. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Does the Field-Tested Cortex look worn?

A little. Expect light scuffing on the slide and edges and slightly softer pink accents, but the silver-and-black base absorbs some of the wear and the design stays fully recognizable. For most players it reads well at typical viewing distance in-game.

Is Field-Tested the best value Cortex?

For a lot of buyers, yes. It costs noticeably less than the near-mint grades while keeping the look intact, and it's the most plentiful condition on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred go lower still if you want the cheapest entry and don't mind heavier wear.

Which gloves go with Cortex?

Its pink-over-silver palette suits a light, playful loadout, so pink or white gloves pair best — a pink pair echoes the accents, while pale gray or silver wraps lean into the metallic base. A darker glove grounds the black underlay if you want more contrast.
