USP-S | Serum (Field-Tested)
The USP-S | Serum (Field-Tested) is a Classified pistol skin with a bold red digital pattern over a chrome base, here in the most worn condition the finish offers. It's the most affordable way into an eye-catching red USP-S, with light wear the deep color still partly disguises.
Design
Designed by Valve, Serum is all about one saturated red. The look comes from metallic paints of varying reflectivity applied as a digital pattern over a chrome base coat — the reason the slide shifts between rich crimson and a brighter metallic flash depending on how it catches the light.
USP-S | Serum (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
Field-Tested picks up light scratching along the slide edges, but the deep red and chrome base absorb it well, so the color stays the dominant impression. Because Serum is float-capped at 0.25, Field-Tested is the most worn grade it reaches — there's no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred, so even the roughest Serum you can buy never shows the heavy battering a full-range skin would at its worst.
USP-S | Serum Rarity
Rarity: Classified, the pink grade. It ranks directly below Covert as the second-highest of the standard weapon tiers, and it's a genuinely uncommon grade to unbox.
USP-S | Serum Case and Collection
Serum sits in The Arms Deal 2 Collection and is unboxed from the CS:GO Weapon Case 2, released together with The Arms Deal 2 update on November 8, 2013. As a group the Classified tier drops around 3.2% of the time (the rate is shared across the tier's skins), and since this old case is out of the active drop pool, supply is fixed — the market, not unboxing, is where most copies now come from.
USP-S | Serum Patterns
Because the red digital design and chrome base are placed the same way on every copy, the finish has no random pattern variation — nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to track down. Copies differ from one another only by wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also find a StatTrak™ Serum from the CS:GO Weapon Case 2, which brings a confirmed-kill counter along; it's rarer and more expensive than the standard drop, and the counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir variant — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages, and this case was never a Major drop.
USP-S | Serum Price
Field-Tested is the cheapest grade of the skin, the entry-level way to run the design for players who care more about the loud red than a spotless slide. If you want this striking USP-S for as little as possible, this is the way in — still a premium finish, just the friendliest price in its ladder. Available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Serum look beat up?
Not really. There's visible edge wear on close inspection, but the deep red and chrome base soak up scratches, so the skin still reads bold and colorful in-game. Field-Tested is about accepting a little honest wear for the lowest price, not sacrificing the look.
Why doesn't the Field-Tested Serum reach heavier wear grades?
The finish is float-capped at 0.25 rather than the usual 1.0, so the game can't roll it past Field-Tested. That's why there's no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred Serum — Field-Tested is as worn as the skin ever gets, and it stays milder than the worst grade of a full-range finish.
Is Field-Tested worth buying over Minimal Wear?
Only if price leads your decision. Minimal Wear looks a step cleaner for a modest bump in cost, so many buyers prefer it. Field-Tested makes sense when you want the bold red design as cheaply as possible and don't mind a touch of visible edge wear.
