USP-S | The Traitor (Battle-Scarred)
The USP-S | The Traitor (Battle-Scarred) is a Covert pistol skin with a dramatic red finish based on the Hanged Man tarot card, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into a grail-tier USP-S design, trading surface polish for the lowest entry price.
Design
The Traitor keeps its identity in that bold red palette, custom painted using the Hanged Man tarot card as inspiration — an illustrated, thematic finish over a plain coat. Designed by the community artists Zaphk, OniLolz, and 2Minds, it ships with a fitting in-game line: "Past failures are the blueprints for future success."
USP-S | The Traitor (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
Battle-Scarred occupies the top of the 0.00–1.00 float range — the roughest the skin gets. The finish wears its damage openly: heavy scratching and paint loss spread across the slide and body. The red artwork survives as the anchor that keeps the design readable, so even at its most beaten it stays recognizable as The Traitor.
USP-S | The Traitor Rarity
Rarity: Covert — the red grade. It sits at the top of the standard weapon tiers, directly below the knives, and it's a genuinely uncommon grade to pull.
USP-S | The Traitor Case and Collection
The Traitor sits in The Snakebite Collection and is unboxed from the Snakebite Case, released together with the End of Broken Fang update in May 2021. As a group the Covert tier drops around 0.64% of the time from the case (the rate is shared across the tier's skins), keeping it a rare grade no matter the wear.
USP-S | The Traitor Patterns
The finish has no random pattern roll — the red artwork is placed the same on each copy, so there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt for. Copies are set apart only by wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also track down a StatTrak™ version, which adds a confirmed-kill counter; it's a scarcer, pricier drop from the Snakebite Case than the standard skin, and the counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir variant — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages, and the Snakebite Case has never featured as a Major drop.
USP-S | The Traitor Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the skin — the entry-level way to run this design for players who value the look over the condition. If you want the striking red USP-S for as little as possible, this is the way in, even on a finish that otherwise commands grail-tier prices. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Traitor still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy scuffing and paint loss, the bold red artwork keeps the design clearly readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting obvious wear in exchange for the lowest price on a Covert pistol, not losing the look altogether.
Why buy a Battle-Scarred Traitor at all?
Price. It's the most affordable door into a grail-tier USP-S finish, and because the artwork is dense and busy, the skin still comes across boldly even at heavy wear. For players who want the design without paying top grade, it's the value play.
Which gloves go with The Traitor?
Its dramatic red palette calls for a warm, high-contrast loadout, so red or black gloves work best — a red pair echoes the finish, while black wraps let the artwork pop. It slots neatly into a red-themed setup alongside other crimson skins.
