What Are Weapon Skins in Rust?
A weapon skin is a Steam Workshop design applied to a gun, melee weapon or tool. Every one of them is purely cosmetic: damage, recoil, rate of fire, reload speed and magazine size are set by the weapon and never by the finish on it. Nobody wins a fight because their AK is prettier.
There is no float, wear or StatTrak in Rust, so each design is a single item at a single price. What drives value is how long a skin has been out of the in-game store and how many copies are still circulating.
Best Rust Weapon Skins
The top of the weapon market is narrow and expensive. Tempered Mp5 leads at around $400, with Glory AK47 at roughly $240, Military Camo MP5 at about $180 and Hot-tempered Longsword at around $160. Alien Red sits near $120, Gold Rock — a skin for the starting rock, of all things — at about $110, and Banana Eoka near $100.
Almost everything you would actually carry costs far less. The broad catalog runs from around $2 upward, and every gun category here has clean finishes under $1. For a ranked take on which guns are worth carrying in the first place, see the best gun in Rust breakdown.

Rust Weapon Skins FAQ
Do weapon skins give an advantage in Rust?
No. Rust skins are cosmetic only. Damage, recoil pattern, fire rate, reload time and ammo capacity are identical across every finish for a given weapon.
What is the most expensive Rust weapon skin?
Tempered Mp5, at around $400 on Skin.Land, ahead of Glory AK47 at roughly $240. Both are retired designs carried by a small number of listings.
Which Rust gun has the most skins?
The AK-47 — over 230 finishes are listed, far more than any other weapon, because it is the gun players care most about. The Sheet Metal Door is the only item in the whole game with a comparable catalog.
Are tools and melee weapons included here?
Yes. Hammers, hatchets, pickaxes, icepicks, swords, knives and even the starting rock all sit in the weapon catalog alongside the guns, because Rust groups them together.
Can I sell Rust weapon skins for real money?
Yes. Any tradable weapon skin can be sold through the Rust sell page with payouts to PayPal, bank card or crypto.
