The AK-47 | Midnight Laminate (Battle-Scarred, BS) is a Restricted rifle skin with blue wooden furniture and an iridescent purple body, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into the two-tone finish, trading pristine color for the lowest entry price.
Design
Midnight Laminate is a laminate-style, two-tone finish — the buttstock, handguard, and grip are done in blue, while iridescent purple covers the rest of the AK-47. It leans on layered color and a purple sheen that shifts with the light rather than on decals or busy graphics, and its in-game line is suitably cheeky: "That's one way to get their attention…"
AK-47 | Midnight Laminate (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
At Battle-Scarred the finish wears its damage openly — heavy scratching and paint loss spread across the body, and the iridescent purple is worn thin, reading darker and flatter than at cleaner grades. Why doesn't Battle-Scarred look completely trashed?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.75 rather than the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never hit the most extreme wear the scale allows. The purple loses its shine and the paint thins out, but the two-tone color stays visible, so the skin reads as worn rather than destroyed.
