AK-47 | Rat Rod (Battle-Scarred)
The AK-47 | Rat Rod (Battle-Scarred) is a Restricted rifle skin with a rusty, weather-beaten hot-rod body — its original blue topcoat painted over, etched into, and worn away like something dragged from a wasteland junkyard. This is the most heavily worn grade, and it's the cheapest way into a design that was built to look battered in the first place.
Design
This is a rough, automotive finish — a wasteland-junkyard salvage whose original blue topcoat has been painted over, etched into, and weathered into a rusty, storm-beaten surface. It's a community design credited to DasDas, Des, and Mia, and its flavor line fits: "Nowhere to run."
AK-47 | Rat Rod (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
At Battle-Scarred the Rat Rod wears its damage openly, with heavy scratching and paint loss across the body. On most skins that would be a downside — but the Rat Rod is meant to look rusted and salvaged, so the extra battering pushes the theme further rather than ruining a clean look. It stays fully recognizable, just at its roughest and most authentically wasteland.
AK-47 | Rat Rod Rarity
The Rat Rod is a Restricted-tier skin — purple, mid-table among the standard weapon grades, above Mil-Spec and below Classified. It's a moderately uncommon grade to unbox.
AK-47 | Rat Rod Case and Collection
Part of The Shattered Web Collection, the Rat Rod drops out of the Shattered Web Case. The Restricted tier carries about a 15.98% drop rate there, making it one of the more attainable grades to unbox, though the market is where most copies actually change hands.
AK-47 | Rat Rod Patterns
The Rat Rod doesn't roll a random seed: the weathered, painted-over look is identical on every copy, so no paint seed or "blue gem" exists to track down. Wear and float are the only meaningful differences between copies.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There is a StatTrak Rat Rod, unboxed from the Shattered Web Case with a confirmed-kill counter; expect a scarcer, pricier drop than the base skin, and the counter is permanent, carrying over when the piece is traded or sold. A Souvenir version, on the other hand, doesn't exist, as Souvenir weapons stem only from Major-tournament souvenir packages and the Shattered Web Collection was never part of a Major drop.
AK-47 | Rat Rod Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the skin — the entry-level way to run the design for players who care more about the look than the condition. Since the Rat Rod is an affordable mid-tier skin already, this is about as low-cost as a genuine copy gets. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Rat Rod still recognizable?
Completely. The rust, etching, and painted-over body are baked into the finish, and heavy float wear only adds to a look that's already meant to be beaten up. A Battle-Scarred copy reads clearly as a Rat Rod in-game — it just leans all the way into the salvaged, wasteland hot-rod theme the design is going for.
Why does the Battle-Scarred Rat Rod hold up better than most Battle-Scarred skins?
Because the finish is distressed by design. On a clean skin, Battle-Scarred wear fights the intended look; on the Rat Rod, it reinforces it. The rusty, painted-over surface is supposed to look weathered, so the heavy scuffing blends in — which makes Battle-Scarred a genuinely sensible, low-cost pick here rather than a compromise.
Which gloves go with the AK-47 | Rat Rod?
Its rusty, earthy palette suits a warm, grungy loadout, so brown, tan, or muted orange gloves work best — something worn and industrial rather than bright or flashy. A pair of Hydra or Broken Fang gloves in earth tones keeps the junkyard hot-rod vibe consistent across your kit.
