The AK-47 | Safari Mesh (Battle-Scarred) is an Industrial Grade rifle skin in a gray, khaki-toned safari mesh camo, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest possible way onto a real AK-47 finish, trading a tidy look for the lowest entry price — and it wears that ruggedness naturally.
Design
The finish is a low-key gray-and-khaki camo, laid down by spraying over mesh fencing and cardboard stencils — the source of its netted, mottled texture. Valve built it, and it carries the in-game line: "A predator is a predator, no matter the environment."
AK-47 | Safari Mesh (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
At Battle-Scarred the camo wears its damage openly — heavy scratching and paint loss spread across the body, with the texture thinned in places. The finish is float-capped at 0.80, so it never reaches the very extreme end of the wear scale, and the earthy palette keeps the damage from looking out of place. Even at its roughest, the skin stays recognizable.
AK-47 | Safari Mesh Rarity
Safari Mesh is an Industrial Grade skin — the light-blue, near-bottom tier just above Consumer Grade. Being such a common grade is a big reason the finish costs so little at every exterior.

Is the Battle-Scarred grade still recognizable?
Yes. Even with heavy scuffing, the gray-khaki camo and netted mesh texture keep the design readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear in exchange for the lowest price, and because the finish is already earthy and muted, the damage looks fitting rather than like the skin has been ruined.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Safari Mesh look completely trashed?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.80 rather than the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never hit the most extreme wear. Add a muted safari palette that hides damage naturally, and the skin stays more legible at Battle-Scarred than many brighter, higher-contrast finishes do.
