AUG | Spalted Wood (Battle-Scarred)

AUG | Spalted Wood (Battle-Scarred)

The AUG | Spalted Wood (Battle-Scarred) is the most heavily worn grade of this Industrial Grade rifle skin, though its capped float keeps the damage from reaching the extreme end. It's the cheapest way to bring the wood-grain design into a loadout.

Design

Valve's hydrographic pattern here mimics dried, spalted wood grain, a natural look built on texture rather than color contrast. The finish carries the flavor text: "Knock on wood; you're gonna need all the luck you can get - Felix Riley, Commanding Officer."

AUG | Spalted Wood (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

The Spalted Wood is capped at a float of 0.48, well short of the full 1.00 scale, so Battle-Scarred never reaches the harshest wear a skin can show. Expect heavy scuffing across the body, but the wood grain keeps the design from getting lost entirely.

AUG | Spalted Wood Rarity

Rarity: Industrial Grade, the light blue tier that ranks just above the common Consumer Grade and below Mil-Spec, Restricted, Classified, and Covert. It's an accessible rarity at any wear.

AUG | Spalted Wood Case and Collection

This finish belongs to The 2021 Dust 2 Collection, launched with Operation Riptide in September 2021. It's not tied to any weapon case — copies come from map-collection drops, trade-up contracts using Dust 2 Collection skins, or direct market purchases.

AUG | Spalted Wood Patterns

No paint seed changes the wood grain's layout — every copy shows the same texture, so there's no rare pattern variant to look for. Wear grade and float number are the only things separating individual copies.

StatTrak & Souvenir

There's no StatTrak version of this skin. A Souvenir edition does exist, first handed out in the Stockholm 2021 Dust II Souvenir Package and again in later Major souvenir packages, alongside the regular finish sold here.

AUG | Spalted Wood Price

Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade on the Spalted Wood's ladder, the entry point for anyone chasing the design without spending much. The float cap keeps the wear from becoming too extreme, so the grain stays visible even here. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Does the wood grain still show at Battle-Scarred?

Reasonably, yes. Despite heavy scuffing, the dried-wood texture stays visible, and the float cap at 0.48 means it never reaches the roughest wear possible on an uncapped skin. It's a compromise between price and appearance.

Why doesn't Battle-Scarred look completely destroyed?

Because the Spalted Wood's float tops out at 0.48 instead of the standard 1.00 maximum, so even its worst grade stays milder than a fully uncapped skin at Battle-Scarred. The grain remains readable rather than fully obscured.

What's the cheapest way to own the AUG | Spalted Wood?

Battle-Scarred is the most affordable grade on the finish's ladder, and given the skin already sits in the budget tier, it's about as inexpensive as the AUG line gets while still showing the full wood-grain design.
