AWP | Dragon Lore (Battle-Scarred)
The AWP | Dragon Lore (Battle-Scarred) is a Covert sniper skin, the legendary dragon design in its most heavily worn grade. It's the lowest entry point to a skin that never truly comes cheap — surface damage in exchange for the smallest possible ticket into Dragon Lore ownership.
Design
Built by Valve internally rather than submitted by the community, the Dragon Lore is custom painted with a detailed knotwork dragon that curls along the rifle's body in warm gold and green tones. The studio leans here into a mythological, heraldic look, finishing it off with the iconic in-game line: "200 keys could never unlock its secrets."
AWP | Dragon Lore (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
At Battle-Scarred the finish wears its damage openly, with heavy scratching and paint loss across the body and the artwork noticeably faded. The finish is float-capped at 0.70, so it never reaches the most extreme end of the wear scale, and the dragon motif stays identifiable even at its roughest. It's the grade for players who want the design and don't mind the scars.
AWP | Dragon Lore Rarity
Rarity: Covert, the red tier — the topmost of the standard weapon rarity grades. That standing puts the Dragon Lore among the AWP's, and the game's, most coveted skins, sitting in the most exclusive slot a weapon can take.
AWP | Dragon Lore Case and Collection
A member of The Cobblestone Collection, the Dragon Lore debuted with Operation Breakout in July 2014. It's the rarest grade in that set as a Covert — the Covert tier figures at roughly 0.64% (shared across the tier's skins) — and since copies only ever came out of the Cobblestone souvenir packages handed out at Majors, the supply is fixed and vanishingly small, a major driver of the price.
AWP | Dragon Lore Patterns
No random pattern applies to the Dragon Lore — the knotwork dragon is fixed in place on every copy, so there's no paint seed or blue-gem to hunt. Float and wear alone separate one example from the next, even as a Souvenir copy bearing tournament stickers can command an enormous premium of its own.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There has never been a StatTrak Dragon Lore — StatTrak weapons derive from cases that carry a StatTrak variant, and this finish was never one of them. A Souvenir version does exist and is the stuff of legend: because Souvenir weapons issue only from Major-tournament souvenir packages and Cobblestone was a Major map, a package such as the ESL One Cologne 2014 Cobblestone Souvenir Package could produce a Souvenir Dragon Lore — the origin of the record-breaking sales the skin is known for.
AWP | Dragon Lore Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the Dragon Lore, the entry-level route to owning the design — but "entry-level" here still means a high-end, four-figure-plus grail. If you want the most famous AWP skin for as little as it ever costs, this is the way in. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Dragon Lore still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy scuffing and faded paint, the knotwork dragon and its gold-and-green scheme keep the design readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting obvious wear in exchange for the lowest entry price, not losing the artwork that makes the skin famous.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Dragon Lore look completely destroyed?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.70 rather than the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never reach the most extreme wear the scale allows. The damage is real and visible, but the artwork holds together enough that the dragon stays legible across the body.
Is Battle-Scarred the cheapest way to own a Dragon Lore?
For the standard version, yes — it's the lowest rung on the price ladder. That said, "cheapest" is relative for a skin this scarce; even a battered copy is a serious, grail-tier purchase. If budget is the deciding factor, this exterior is the most accessible door into ownership.
