AWP | Gungnir (Field-Tested)

AWP | Gungnir (Field-Tested)

The AWP | Gungnir (Field-Tested) is a Covert sniper skin — a pearlescent blue-and-ivory finish carrying Odin's spear down the rifle, and a genuine CS2 grail. Field-Tested is the mid grade, showing honest wear while remaining the more attainable way into a finish that sits among the priciest AWPs around.

Design

Gungnir recasts the AWP as a slice of Norse myth — a custom-painted body in pearlescent blue and ivory, washed through with cyan and white, as Odin's legendary spear runs down the weapon. Designed in-house at Valve, it comes stamped with a fitting line of flavor text: "A weapon for the Allfather."

AWP | Gungnir (Field-Tested) Float and Wear

At Field-Tested the finish shows visible wear along the edges and high-contact areas, and the pearlescent sheen loses a little of its glow compared with the higher grades. The spear motif and the core blue-and-ivory coloring stay clearly legible, so the skin is unmistakably Gungnir at a glance. For buyers chasing the design over showroom condition, this is the practical grade.

AWP | Gungnir Rarity

Rarity: Covert. The red tier stands atop the standard weapon grades and is the rarest color you'll pull outside of knives and gloves. For a skin as coveted as this, that rarity accounts for much of what drives its value.

AWP | Gungnir Case and Collection

Part of The Norse Collection, Gungnir arrived with Operation Shattered Web in November 2019. There's no weapon case for it — Norse Collection finishes came out of Shattered Web drops and can be pursued through trade-ups rather than case openings. With Covert being the rarest standard grade, authentic copies are extremely scarce, and because the operation wrapped up long ago the supply is fixed, leaving nearly all of them to change hands on the market.

AWP | Gungnir Patterns

Gungnir carries no random pattern variation — the spear design and its blue-and-ivory wash are placed the same on every copy, so no paint seed or blue gem is worth hunting. Float and wear are all that distinguish one example from another.

StatTrak & Souvenir

You won't find a StatTrak version. StatTrak counters are built into weapon-case drops, and as this finish belongs to a collection with no associated case, none was ever made. A Souvenir version is likewise absent — Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and Gungnir was never in a Major drop.

AWP | Gungnir Price

Field-Tested lands in the middle of the range — below the two top grades but still very much a high-end, grail-tier price by any normal standard. It's the most sensible route in for a player who wants the finish on the server rather than a flawless showpiece for the display case. It's available on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Does the Field-Tested Gungnir look worn?

Some, yes. You'll notice wear along the edges and a slightly duller pearlescent finish compared with Minimal Wear, but the spear detail and the blue-and-ivory coloring remain sharp enough to read instantly. In the heat of a round it still looks every bit the grail — the wear mostly shows up under close inspection.

Is Field-Tested the best-value Gungnir?

In relative terms, often yes. It's the most affordable of the commonly traded grades while keeping the design fully recognizable, so players who want to actually use the skin tend to land here. The truly flawless look costs a lot more at Factory New, and that premium only makes sense for collectors chasing top condition.

Can you still get Gungnir from drops?

No. It was a Norse Collection drop tied to Operation Shattered Web, which ended long ago, so it no longer drops in-game. The only realistic ways to own one now are buying on the market or building toward it through trade-ups — and given its scarcity, buying is by far the usual route.
