M4A1-S | Basilisk (Factory New)

M4A1-S | Basilisk (Factory New)

The M4A1-S | Basilisk (Factory New) is a Restricted rifle skin — a dark brushed-steel body carrying the etched outline of a coiled serpent. Factory New is the top grade, where the muted black-and-gray Patina reads at its sharpest.

Design

Basilisk leans on a Patina finish: a dark, brushed-steel base with the skeletal form of a coiled serpent etched across the receiver in subtle silver-gray, fangs and curves picked out against matte metal. It's a community design by the artist Gaunt, and it carries a fitting in-game line: "It's rude to stare, but war isn't the time for pleasantries."

M4A1-S | Basilisk (Factory New) Float and Wear

Float runs 0.00–0.68 on this finish, and Factory New sits at the clean end of that scale. Here the brushed-steel base looks even and untouched, with the silver serpent engraving reading crisp against the dark metal. For anyone who wants the etched detail as legible as the skin allows, this is the grade to reach for.

M4A1-S | Basilisk Rarity

Rarity: Restricted — the pink-purple tier, mid-high among the standard weapon grades, above Mil-Spec and below Classified. It's a reasonably uncommon pull from a case.

M4A1-S | Basilisk Case and Collection

This skin belongs to The Vanguard Collection and drops from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case, released with Operation Vanguard in November 2014. The Restricted tier as a whole unboxes about 15.98% of the time (a rate shared across the tier's skins), and with the case out of the active drop pool, supply is fixed — most copies are bought on the market rather than unboxed.

M4A1-S | Basilisk Patterns

The Basilisk has no random pattern variation — the etched serpent and brushed metal land the same way on every copy, so there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt. Wear and float are the only things that separate one from another.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak™ M4A1-S | Basilisk exists and adds a confirmed-kill counter, dropping from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case; it's a rarer, pricier find than the standard skin, and the counter is permanent, carrying over when the item is traded or sold. There's no Souvenir version — Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages, and this finish was never part of a Major drop.

M4A1-S | Basilisk Price

Factory New sits at the top of the Basilisk price ladder as the highest grade available — a clear step above Minimal Wear, yet the finish overall lands in affordable mid-tier territory for the M4A1-S rather than grail money. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is Factory New worth it over Minimal Wear?

It depends on how much the engraving matters to you. Factory New keeps the silver serpent detail at its most legible against an even steel base, but the dark Patina hides light wear well, so Minimal Wear looks close for less. Pay up for the top condition; otherwise Minimal Wear is the smarter value.

Which gloves go with the Basilisk?

Its muted black-and-gray palette suits a dark, understated loadout, so black, gunmetal, or gray gloves work best — a metallic or steel-look pair echoes the brushed base, while plain black wraps keep the low-key, tactical vibe intact. Nothing too colorful, or it fights the skin's subtle tone.

What is the highest grade of the Basilisk?

Factory New is the top grade in the range. The finish reaches down to Battle-Scarred at the worn end, but Factory New gives you the evenest brushed-steel surface and the sharpest read on the etched serpent, which is why it commands the highest price of the five conditions.
