M4A1-S | Basilisk (Minimal Wear)
The M4A1-S | Basilisk (Minimal Wear) is a Restricted rifle skin with a dark brushed-steel body and an etched coiled-serpent motif. Minimal Wear keeps the engraving looking almost untouched while shaving cost off the top Factory New grade.
Design
The look is a Patina finish built on contrast: brushed dark steel forms the base, and a coiled serpent is etched across the receiver in muted silver-gray, its fangs and skeletal curves standing out against the matte metal. The community artist Gaunt created it, and it ships with a fitting in-game line: "It's rude to stare, but war isn't the time for pleasantries."
M4A1-S | Basilisk (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
Across the finish float spans 0.00–0.68, and Minimal Wear sits just below Factory New on that scale. At this level the steel base picks up only the faintest edge wear, and the silver serpent engraving stays clean and easy to read — close enough to the top grade that most eyes won't spot the gap in-game.
M4A1-S | Basilisk Rarity
Rarity: Restricted. That's the pink-purple tier, sitting above Mil-Spec and below Classified — a mid-high grade among the standard weapon finishes and a reasonably uncommon case pull.
M4A1-S | Basilisk Case and Collection
Part of The Vanguard Collection, this finish comes out of the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case, which launched alongside Operation Vanguard in November 2014. Across the case the Restricted tier pulls at roughly 15.98% (that rate is shared among the tier's skins), and since the case has left the active drop pool, supply is capped — copies are picked up on the market rather than unboxed.
M4A1-S | Basilisk Patterns
There's no random pattern variation on the Basilisk — the etched serpent and brushed metal appear identically on every copy, so no paint seed or "blue gem" is worth chasing. The only things that set copies apart are wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There is a StatTrak™ version that adds a confirmed-kill counter, dropping from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case; it's scarcer and costs more than the standard skin, and its counter is permanent, staying with the item through trades and sales. No Souvenir version exists — Souvenir weapons are produced only from Major-tournament packages, and this skin was never part of a Major drop.
M4A1-S | Basilisk Price
Minimal Wear is the value pick near the top of the range — cheaper than Factory New while keeping nearly the same look, thanks to a dark base that barely shows wear at this grade. It stays comfortably in affordable mid-tier M4A1-S territory. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Minimal Wear Basilisk look worn?
Barely. The brushed-steel base and dark Patina mask light scuffing well, so a Minimal Wear copy reads as near-flawless to most eyes, with only faint edge wear on close inspection. The etched silver serpent stays fully legible, so the skin's signature detail always stands out.
Is Minimal Wear the best value Basilisk?
For many buyers, yes. It costs noticeably less than Factory New but looks almost identical because the dark base hides minor wear, and it's easier to find on the market. Field-Tested and lower grades are cheaper still if you want the lowest entry price and don't mind more visible scuffing.
Which gloves go with the Basilisk?
Its muted black-and-gray palette suits a dark, understated loadout, so black, gunmetal, or gray gloves work best — a metallic pair echoes the brushed base, while plain black wraps keep the low-key, tactical vibe. Skip bright colors, which fight the skin's subtle tone.
