M4A1-S | Basilisk (Well-Worn)

M4A1-S | Basilisk (Well-Worn)

The M4A1-S | Basilisk (Well-Worn) is a Restricted rifle skin with a dark brushed-steel body and an etched coiled serpent, here in a more battle-worn state. It's a cheaper way into the finish, with wear the dark base still partly disguises.

Design

The finish is a Patina at heart: a dark brushed-steel body decorated with the etched form of a coiled serpent, fangs and skeletal curves picked out in muted silver-gray over matte metal. Designed by the community artist Gaunt, it comes with a fitting in-game line: "It's rude to stare, but war isn't the time for pleasantries."

M4A1-S | Basilisk (Well-Worn) Float and Wear

With the finish's float running 0.00–0.68, Well-Worn sits near the high end. At this grade the steel shows clear scuffing and metal dulling across the magazine, receiver, and edges. The etched serpent still holds as the standout detail, but there's no hiding that this is a worn condition — one grade cleaner than Battle-Scarred, which is where the float cap comes into play. For players who care more about price than a pristine surface, the design comes through here for less.

M4A1-S | Basilisk Rarity

Rarity: Restricted, the pink-purple tier. It ranks above Mil-Spec and below Classified, a mid-high spot among the standard weapon grades, and it's a reasonably uncommon grade to unbox.

M4A1-S | Basilisk Case and Collection

Part of The Vanguard Collection, the Basilisk drops from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case that arrived with Operation Vanguard in November 2014. The Restricted tier as a group unboxes about 15.98% of the time (that odds figure is shared across the tier's skins), and with the case no longer in the active drop pool, supply stays fixed — buyers get most copies on the market instead of from a case.

M4A1-S | Basilisk Patterns

The Basilisk has no random pattern roll — the etched serpent and brushed metal are placed identically on each copy, so there's nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt for. Wear and float are all that separate one copy from the next.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak™ Basilisk does exist and brings a confirmed-kill counter along, dropping from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case; it's a scarcer, more expensive find than the plain skin, and that counter is permanent — it carries over whenever the item is traded or sold. A Souvenir version was never produced, since Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages and this finish was never a Major drop.

M4A1-S | Basilisk Price

Well-Worn sits near the bottom of the range, below Field-Tested and above only Battle-Scarred — a budget route to the design for players who won't pay the mid-grade premium. Even so, it stays within affordable mid-tier M4A1-S territory rather than the very cheapest brackets. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

How worn does the Well-Worn Basilisk look?

Noticeably. Expect visible scuffing and dulled metal on the magazine and around the edges — more than Field-Tested but short of the heavy battering of Battle-Scarred. The steel base and etched serpent keep it recognizable, so it still reads clearly as a Basilisk in-game.

Is Well-Worn worth buying over Field-Tested?

Only if price is your priority. Field-Tested looks a good deal cleaner for a modest step up in cost, so most buyers prefer it. Well-Worn makes sense when you want the Basilisk design as cheaply as possible without dropping all the way to Battle-Scarred.

Which gloves go with the Basilisk?

Its muted black-and-gray palette suits a dark, understated loadout, so black, gunmetal, or gray gloves work best — a metallic pair echoes the brushed base, while plain black wraps keep the low-key, tactical vibe. Loud colors work against the skin's subtle tone.
