M4A1-S | Golden Coil (Well-Worn)
The M4A1-S | Golden Coil (Well-Worn) is a Covert rifle skin with a golden-yellow body and an attacking-snake hydrographic, here in a more battle-worn state. It's a cheaper route into a top-tier M4A1-S finish, with scuffing that dulls the gold but leaves the serpent readable.
Design
At heart the finish is a luxurious yellow base carrying a hydrographic of an attacking snake — a golden, artistic design from the community creator Kitch.sb that trades clutter for elegance. It comes with a fitting in-game line: "The viper can strike from anywhere."
M4A1-S | Golden Coil (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
On the full 0.00–1.00 float scale, Well-Worn sits near the high end. At this level the gold shows clear scuffing and paint loss across the receiver, magazine, and edges, and the shine gives way to a more matte, worn tone. The snake still anchors the look, but there's no hiding that this is a worn grade — the trade-off for a lower price.
M4A1-S | Golden Coil Rarity
Rarity: Covert — the red grade, ranked at the very top of the standard weapon tiers. Pulling one is genuinely rare, and that top-tier status is what keeps the Golden Coil in demand even in heavier wears.
M4A1-S | Golden Coil Case and Collection
The Golden Coil is one of The Shadow Collection finishes and drops from the Shadow Case, which launched with the September 2015 update. As a group the Covert tier unboxes about 0.64% of the time (that odds figure is shared across the tier), and with pulls that scarce, buyers pick up most copies on the market instead of from a case.
M4A1-S | Golden Coil Patterns
The finish carries no random pattern variation: the golden base and the snake hydrographic are laid down the same way on every copy, so there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to seek out. Wear and float are all that separate one copy from the next.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak™ M4A1-S | Golden Coil does exist and brings a confirmed-kill counter along; it's a scarcer, more expensive Shadow Case drop than the standard skin, and that counter is permanent — it carries over whenever the item is traded or sold. A Souvenir version was never produced, since Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages and the Shadow Case has never been a Major drop.
M4A1-S | Golden Coil Price
Well-Worn sits low on the Golden Coil ladder, below Field-Tested and above only Battle-Scarred — a budget path to the design for players who won't pay the mid-grade premium. It's one of the cheaper ways to get a genuine Covert gold M4A1-S into your loadout. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How worn does the Well-Worn Golden Coil look?
Noticeably. Expect visible scratches and paint thinning across the magazine, receiver, and edges, with the gold looking more matte than bright — heavier than Field-Tested but short of the full battering of Battle-Scarred. The snake motif keeps it recognizable, so it still reads as the Golden Coil in-game.
Is Well-Worn worth buying over Field-Tested?
Mostly if price is your priority. Field-Tested keeps the gold looking better for a modest step up in cost, so many buyers prefer it. Well-Worn makes sense when you want a Covert M4A1-S as cheaply as possible without dropping all the way to Battle-Scarred.
Which gloves go with the Golden Coil?
Even with the wear, the golden-yellow palette calls for a warm loadout — gold, tan, or brown gloves match the theme, while black wraps play up the contrast against what gold remains. Staying in the yellow-to-brown family keeps the serpent-and-gold look intact.
