M4A4 | Buzz Kill (Field-Tested)
The M4A4 | Buzz Kill (Field-Tested) is a Covert rifle skin showing off a "Sektor Industry" robotic insect in industrial yellow with black-and-green trim. Field-Tested is the most accessible way into this Covert — a touch of honest wear on a bold design, for well under the top grades.
Design
At its core the finish turns the M4A4 into "Sektor Industry" gear: a mechanical, robotic insect painted in loud industrial yellow, with green and black accents lending a hazard-striped, machine-shop vibe. It began as a community submission from the artist DasDas, and it comes with a fitting in-game line: "There's one at every party."
M4A4 | Buzz Kill (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
At Field-Tested the finish picks up light scratching along the edges, magazine, and stock, but the busy yellow-and-black graphic disguises it well and still reads bold from a normal distance. This is the grade most buyers reach for on a Covert this pricey — the balance point where the design lands intact without the premium of the higher exteriors.
M4A4 | Buzz Kill Rarity
Rarity: Covert — the red grade at the top of the standard weapon tiers, one step above Classified. It's the rarest band below knives and gloves, so pulling any Covert M4A4 from a case is an uncommon event.
M4A4 | Buzz Kill Case and Collection
Part of The Glove Collection, Buzz Kill is unboxed from the Glove Case that launched with the Glove Case update back on November 28, 2016. As a group the Covert tier drops around 0.64% of the time from the case (the odds are shared across the tier), making it a scarce pull — and with the supply already set, the market is where most copies come from today.
M4A4 | Buzz Kill Patterns
Because the robotic-insect design is placed identically on each copy, this finish carries no random pattern variation — there's nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to track down. Copies differ only by wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also find a StatTrak™ M4A4 | Buzz Kill, which brings a confirmed-kill counter along; it's a scarcer, more expensive drop than the standard skin, and that counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir variant — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages, and the Glove Case has never featured as a Major drop.
M4A4 | Buzz Kill Price
Field-Tested is the value entry to this finish — cheaper than the two top grades while keeping the same eye-catching design, which is why it's the popular choice on a skin this expensive. Buzz Kill still sits in high-end, grail territory overall, so even the value grade isn't pocket change. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Buzz Kill look worn?
Only a little. The busy yellow-and-black insect artwork hides scratches well, so a Field-Tested copy still reads bold at a glance, with light edge wear showing up mainly on close inspection. The green detailing and vivid base stay intact, so the skin's signature look holds firm at this grade.
Is Field-Tested the best value Buzz Kill?
For most buyers, yes. It costs meaningfully less than Minimal Wear and Factory New while keeping the same mechanical-bug design, and it's more common on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred go cheaper still if you want the lowest entry price and don't mind heavier scuffing on the finish.
Which gloves go with the Buzz Kill?
Its industrial yellow-and-black palette suits a bold, high-contrast loadout, so yellow, black, or hazard-toned gloves work best — a yellow or black-and-yellow pair echoes the insect artwork, while dark wraps keep the loud finish as the centerpiece. Warm, industrial tones tie the whole loadout together.
