M4A4 | Modern Hunter (Well-Worn)
The M4A4 | Modern Hunter (Well-Worn) is a Restricted rifle skin finished in a gray photographic hunting-camo hydrographic, here in a more battered state. It's a cheaper route into a grail-tier M4A4 design, with wear the muted camo still partly disguises.
Design
At heart the Modern Hunter is a Valve design with a tactical, understated feel — a gray photographic hunting-camo hydrographic that fuses outdoors motifs with a modern edge. It leans on texture over bold artwork, and the camo pattern reads as a single cohesive wrap running the length of the rifle.
M4A4 | Modern Hunter (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
At Well-Worn the finish shows clear scuffing and paint thinning across the body, the magazine, and the edges, where the camo starts to break up. The pattern still holds enough to keep the skin recognizable, but there's no pretending this is a clean grade. For players who put price ahead of a spotless surface, it delivers the look for less.
M4A4 | Modern Hunter Rarity
Rarity: Restricted, the purple tier. It ranks just above Mil-Spec and just below Classified in the standard weapon grades, making it an uncommon pull that stands apart from the common drops.
M4A4 | Modern Hunter Case and Collection
Part of The Militia Collection — an original set that shipped with the Arms Deal update back in August 2013 — the Modern Hunter isn't linked to any active weapon case. That means it can't be unboxed from a current case, so its supply stays fixed and buyers pick copies up on the market rather than from drops.
M4A4 | Modern Hunter Patterns
The Modern Hunter carries no random pattern roll: the hunting-camo hydrographic is positioned the same on each copy, so there's no paint seed or "blue gem" variant to track down. What separates one copy from the next is simply wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak variant of this skin doesn't exist. StatTrak versions are minted through weapon cases, and because no case holds the Modern Hunter, that edition was never created. The same goes for Souvenir — those items come strictly from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and The Militia Collection was never given out through that channel.
M4A4 | Modern Hunter Price
Well-Worn sits low on the price ladder, beneath Field-Tested and above only Battle-Scarred — a budget path into a finish that ranks high-end and grail-tier overall. It's one of the cheaper ways to get a real Modern Hunter into your loadout without paying the mid-grade rate. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How worn does the Well-Worn Modern Hunter look?
Noticeably. Expect visible scratches and paint thinning on the magazine and around the edges — heavier than Field-Tested but short of Battle-Scarred's full battering. The gray camo keeps the skin recognizable, so it still reads clearly as the Modern Hunter in-game despite the added wear.
Is Well-Worn worth buying over Field-Tested?
Mainly if price is your priority. Field-Tested looks a fair bit cleaner for a modest step up in cost, so most buyers lean that way. Well-Worn makes sense when you want the grail-tier Modern Hunter design as cheaply as possible without going all the way down to Battle-Scarred.
Which gloves go with the Well-Worn Modern Hunter?
Its gray hunting-camo palette pairs well with a rugged, outdoors-style loadout, so olive, tan, or gray gloves suit it — worn field-camo wraps even complement the battered look at this grade. Sticking to earthy, muted tones keeps the whole setup coherent rather than drawing the eye away from the rifle.
