The M4A4 | The Battlestar (Battle-Scarred) is a Covert rifle skin with a space-station theme — an olive-and-gray body, a dark-green receiver, and small yellow accent details, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into a Covert M4A4, trading surface quality for the lowest entry price.
Design
The finish evokes the inside of a spaceship: gray makes up most of the forend, grip, and stock, a dark-green receiver cuts across the middle, and small yellow details add the highlights. Designed by the community artist Millenia, it ships with an ominous in-game line: "Beware those who speak of the watchtower."
M4A4 | The Battlestar (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
At Battle-Scarred the finish wears its damage openly — heavy scuffing and paint loss spread across the gray plating, and the surface is worn thin in places. The dark-green receiver and yellow accents survive as the anchors that keep the skin readable. This finish is capped at 0.64, so it never reaches the extreme end of the float scale, and the design stays legible even at its roughest.

Rarity: Covert. That's the red tier, the top grade of the standard weapon skins and the step above Classified — the rarest kind of finish to unbox, which underpins the Battlestar's prestige.
M4A4 | The Battlestar Case and Collection
The Battlestar belongs to The Wildfire Collection and is unboxed from the Operation Wildfire Case, released together with Operation Wildfire on February 17, 2016. The Covert tier drops roughly 0.64% of the time from the case (a rate shared across the tier's skins), and because the case is out of the active drop pool, supply is capped — unboxing has given way to the market as the main source of copies.
M4A4 | The Battlestar Patterns
Since the gray body, green receiver, and yellow accents sit the same way on every Battlestar, the finish has no random pattern variation — there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt for here. Wear and float are all that separate one copy from the next.

FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Battlestar still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy scuffing and paint loss, the gray body, dark-green receiver, and yellow accents keep the spaceship theme readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear in exchange for the lowest price on a Covert M4A4, not losing the design entirely.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Battlestar look completely destroyed?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.64 rather than the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never reach the most extreme wear the scale allows. Combined with a fairly muted gray base that absorbs damage, the skin stays more legible here than many brighter finishes do at the same grade.
Is Battle-Scarred the cheapest way to own the Battlestar?
Yes. As the lowest exterior on the ladder, Battle-Scarred is the most affordable route to a genuine Covert Battlestar. You accept the heaviest wear in return, but the recognizable gray-and-green theme and low drop rate of the tier still make it a meaningful piece to own for less.
