MAG-7 | Rust Coat (Well-Worn)
The MAG-7 | Rust Coat (Well-Worn) is a Consumer Grade shotgun skin made to look like heavily corroded metal. It's a rock-bottom-priced route into the finish, with added wear that simply deepens the already-rusted look.
Design
At its core the finish is rusted, salvaged hardware — gray corroded metal with rust-brown streaks, framed as a still-working memento from the Siege map. The design comes from Valve, and it carries a fitting in-game line: "Scars build character."
MAG-7 | Rust Coat (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
Well-Worn copies sit high in the finish's full 0.00–1.00 float range. On top of the intentional corrosion, this grade layers clear scratching and paint thinning across the body — but because the skin is designed to look rusted anyway, the extra wear reads as more of the same rather than as damage that spoils anything. It's a step rougher than Field-Tested.
MAG-7 | Rust Coat Rarity
Rarity: Consumer Grade, the white tier. It's the lowest of the standard weapon grades and the most common quality to come across — which is a big reason the finish stays dirt cheap.
MAG-7 | Rust Coat Case and Collection
The Rust Coat sits in The 2018 Inferno Collection and entered the game with the FACEIT 2018 update in September 2018. There's no weapon case; regular copies come through collection drops and trade-ups, and as the collection's entry rarity, it's priced right at the floor of the market.
MAG-7 | Rust Coat Patterns
Because the corrosion and gray metal are placed the same way on every copy, the finish has no random pattern variation — nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to search for. Wear and float are all that set one copy apart from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak edition doesn't exist here, since StatTrak copies are minted through weapon cases and this finish has never been in one. It does have a Souvenir version, though — those are handed out in Major-tournament packages, first in the London 2018 Inferno Souvenir Package and then in later Major packages.
MAG-7 | Rust Coat Price
Well-Worn sits near the bottom of the finish's price ladder, below Field-Tested and above only Battle-Scarred — though on a Consumer Grade MAG-7 the whole range is bargain-bin cheap. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How worn does the Well-Worn Rust Coat look?
Rougher than Field-Tested, but it hardly matters here. The finish is already corroded by design, so the added scratching and paint thinning at Well-Worn just deepen the rusted look rather than introducing an obvious flaw. If anything, more wear only makes the salvaged-metal theme more convincing.
Is Well-Worn worth it over Field-Tested?
Since the whole finish is cheap and the rust hides added wear, the two grades look and cost almost the same. Well-Worn saves a sliver more and suits players who like the most weathered look possible short of Battle-Scarred; otherwise Field-Tested is just as good a pick.
Does the extra wear hurt the look?
Not on this finish. A skin built to look rusted actually benefits from heavier wear — the scratching blends into the corrosion instead of standing out as damage. That's why Rust Coat's lower grades stay perfectly usable and keep their rugged character even at Well-Worn.
