MP7 | Prey (Battle-Scarred)
The MP7 | Prey (Battle-Scarred) shows the rust-colored zebra-stripe pattern in its roughest available condition. It's the cheapest way to add this finish to a loadout.
Design
Rust-colored zebra stripes over a gray, tactical base give this finish its animal-print texture rather than anything eye-catching. It's a Valve design, carrying the in-game line: "Eat, sleep, hunt, repeat."
MP7 | Prey (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
Prey's float tops out at 0.48, meaning even Battle-Scarred, its worst grade, stays noticeably milder than a skin whose float runs the full range to 1.00. Expect heavier fading and scuffing across the stripe pattern than any other grade offers, but the wear stops short of the most extreme condition seen elsewhere in the game.
MP7 | Prey Rarity
Rarity: Consumer Grade — the white tier, the most common rarity a weapon skin can carry.
MP7 | Prey Case and Collection
Prey is part of The 2021 Dust 2 Collection, which came out with Operation Riptide in September 2021. It has no dedicated weapon case, so copies are picked up through collection drops or trade-up contracts.
MP7 | Prey Patterns
Since the zebra-stripe layout never varies between copies, Prey has no random pattern or blue-gem seed to chase. Wear and float alone set one copy apart from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
No StatTrak MP7 | Prey exists — the finish only comes in its regular and Souvenir forms. Souvenir copies date back to the Stockholm 2021 Dust II Souvenir Package, with several later Major-tournament packages adding more.
MP7 | Prey Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade on the Prey ladder, sitting below every other wear. It's the entry-level way to own the design, and it's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Prey still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavier fading and scuffing, the rust-colored zebra-stripe layout is still readable in-game. Battle-Scarred trades a cleaner look for the lowest possible price rather than losing the design entirely.
Why doesn't Battle-Scarred look fully trashed here?
Because the finish's float caps at 0.48 instead of the full 1.00, its Battle-Scarred copies never reach the most extreme wear other skins can show. It looks used, but not as ragged as a skin with an uncapped float range.
Is Battle-Scarred the best budget pick on the MP7?
Among Prey's own grades, yes — it's the cheapest way to get the zebra-stripe design into your loadout. Combined with the finish's already-common Consumer Grade rarity, Battle-Scarred makes this one of the most affordable MP7 finishes available.
