MP9 | Music Box (Battle-Scarred)
The MP9 | Music Box (Battle-Scarred) is the most heavily worn version of this Mil-Spec, gold-damask-on-brown finish. It's the cheapest way to own the design, trading surface polish for the lowest entry price.
Design
A gold damask pattern layers over a brown base on the MP9 in this Valve-made finish, carrying the flavor text "Fight of fancy." The ornate, musical-themed styling is the identity of the skin at any wear level.
MP9 | Music Box (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
Float on the Music Box caps at 0.55, so even Battle-Scarred — the top of that range — never reaches the harshest wear a full-range skin can show. Heavy scuffing and noticeable paint loss are visible here, but the damage stays milder than an uncapped Battle-Scarred finish would display.
MP9 | Music Box Rarity
Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade — the light blue band, one of the more common tiers among standard weapon finishes.
MP9 | Music Box Case and Collection
The Music Box belongs to The 2021 Mirage Collection, which debuted with Operation Riptide in September 2021. There's no weapon case behind it — supply comes from collection trade-ups, the market, and separately from its long-running Souvenir packages.
MP9 | Music Box Patterns
No pattern-index variation exists — every copy shows the same gold damask artwork regardless of seed, so there's no rare pattern to chase. Only condition and float distinguish individual copies.
StatTrak & Souvenir
This finish has never had a StatTrak edition. It does come as a Souvenir item, first issued in the Stockholm 2021 Mirage Souvenir Package with numerous Majors adding their own packages since, but the version described here is the regular, non-Souvenir finish.
MP9 | Music Box Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the Music Box by a clear margin, sitting at the bottom of an otherwise premium-tier finish. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is Battle-Scarred the cheapest way to get a Music Box?
Yes — it's the bottom of the ladder for this finish, priced well under Well-Worn and every cleaner grade. You still get the same Mil-Spec rarity and gold damask design, just with heavier visible wear across the body.
Does the damask pattern still read clearly at Battle-Scarred?
Mostly, yes. The gold-and-brown contrast holds up even with heavy scuffing, so the pattern stays identifiable, though fine detail and edge sharpness are noticeably softer than on Factory New or Minimal Wear.
Can I get a StatTrak Battle-Scarred Music Box?
No — StatTrak has never been produced for this finish, in any wear grade. Your only options are the standard finish shown here and the Souvenir version handed out at Major tournaments starting with Stockholm 2021.
