Negev | Prototype (Well-Worn)
The Negev | Prototype (Well-Worn, WW) is a Mil-Spec Grade machine gun finish — its white-and-red placeholder design shown in a more weathered state. It's a cheaper route into a Prisma 2 skin, with wear that shows more openly on the pale base.
Design
Prototype covers the machine gun in white with red detailing, framed in-game as a temporary paint job left on while the design is finalized. It's ross's community creation, and the in-game flavor reads "v1.2.1, PAT. 3422107."
Negev | Prototype (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
Across a 0.00 to 0.70 float range, Well-Worn falls into the upper portion, so wear is clearly visible — and because the base is white, the scuffing and paint thinning read more plainly than they would on a dark finish. The red accents still anchor the look, but this is unmistakably a worn grade, priced for buyers who value cost over a pristine surface.
Negev | Prototype Rarity
Rarity sits at Mil-Spec Grade — the blue tier at the base of the standard weapon ladder, and the most common grade in its collection.
Negev | Prototype Case and Collection
Part of The Prisma 2 Collection, this finish is unboxed from the Prisma 2 Case that launched in March 2020. As a Mil-Spec drop — the tier accounts for about 79.92% of the case's pulls — it's the most common grade, so supply stays high and prices low on the market.
Negev | Prototype Patterns
Because the white base and red detailing are fixed on every copy, this finish carries no random pattern variation — nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt. The only differences between copies come down to wear grade and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also find a StatTrak Prototype, minted from the Prisma 2 Case, which adds a confirmed-kill counter; it's a scarcer, more expensive drop than the plain finish, and the counter is permanent — it never gets wiped through trades or sales. A Souvenir version doesn't exist, because those come solely from Major-tournament packages and the Prisma 2 Case was never a Major drop.
Negev | Prototype Price
Well-Worn sits near the bottom of the ladder, below Field-Tested (FT) and above only Battle-Scarred (BS) — one of the cheapest ways to own the placeholder design. Available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How rough does the Well-Worn Prototype look?
Noticeably, and more so than on a darker skin. The white base makes scuffing and paint thinning stand out clearly, so it reads plainly as a worn grade. The red accents keep the design recognizable, so it still looks like Prototype in-game — you're simply accepting visible wear for a lower price.
Is Well-Worn worth it over Field-Tested?
Mostly if price is the priority. Field-Tested looks cleaner for a small step up in cost, and since the finish is cheap either way, many buyers just pay the little extra. Well-Worn makes sense when you want the design at the lowest sensible price without dropping to Battle-Scarred.
Why does wear show more on Prototype?
Its base is white, and light colors reveal scratches and grime far more readily than dark finishes, which tend to hide wear. So a Well-Worn Prototype looks more visibly weathered than a dark skin at the same grade would — worth keeping in mind if surface condition matters to you.
