The Nova | Candy Apple (Field-Tested) is an Industrial Grade shotgun skin in a red-and-black lacquer, here with a touch of honest wear. Field-Tested is the most affordable and most-worn grade this finish comes in, since it caps well short of the full wear scale.
Design
At heart it's a loud, minimalist paint job — individual parts of the Nova sprayed in solid colors on a red-and-black scheme, channelling a glossy, car-body vibe. The finish is a Valve creation and comes with the playful tagline "Great on cars, better on weapons."
Nova | Candy Apple (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
Field-Tested caps the finish's 0.00–0.30 float range at its top end. Because the whole skin is capped at 0.30, this "most-worn" grade is far milder than a full-1.0 skin would be — you'll see some light scratching on the edges and panels, but the red coat stays largely intact and readable. It's the roughest this finish gets, and it still looks respectable.

Rarity: Industrial Grade — the light-blue tier near the base of the standard grades. It's a common class, which keeps supply healthy and the entry price low for anyone who just wants the candy-red look.

How worn does the Field-Tested version look?
Lighter than the name suggests. Since the finish is capped at 0.30 float, its Field-Tested grade never reaches heavy battering — you get modest scuffing on the edges and panels, while the glossy red lacquer keeps its color across the body. It stays clearly recognizable as the candy-red Nova in-game.
Why is there no Battle-Scarred or Well-Worn version?
The finish is float-capped at 0.30, and Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred require higher float values than the skin ever rolls. That means Field-Tested is the most-worn grade available, and it stays milder than the worst grades of an uncapped skin.
Is Field-Tested worth it over Minimal Wear?
If price is the priority, yes. Field-Tested costs the least of the three grades and still shows the red coat well, thanks to the capped wear ceiling. Buyers who want a near-fresh surface pay a bit more for Minimal Wear, but the visual gap on this glossy finish is small.
