Nova | Tempest (Field-Tested)
The Nova | Tempest (Field-Tested) is a Mil-Spec Nova skin printed with a blue wave-and-cloud storm motif, here with a little honest handling. Field-Tested is the most worn grade this finish comes in and the most accessible way to own it.
Design
Tempest gives the Nova a blue hydrographic of waves and rolling clouds — a stormy sea scene wrapped over the body rather than a plain color or a printed logo. The finish is Valve's work, and it carries the fitting line "A storm is coming."
Nova | Tempest (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
This finish is float-capped at 0.22, so Field-Tested is as worn as it ever gets — and even here, that cap means the wear stays milder than a full-range skin's Field-Tested would. Expect light scratching at the edges, but the blue wave-and-cloud print reads strongly throughout, making this the value grade of a short ladder.
Nova | Tempest Rarity
The grade is Mil-Spec, the blue tier — the entry level of the colored weapon grades, a step above the plain white and light-blue base tiers. It's a common competitive-tier finish, straightforward to add to a loadout.
Nova | Tempest Case and Collection
Tempest belongs to The Bravo Collection and comes out of the Operation Bravo Case, which arrived with Operation Bravo in September 2013. Across the case the Mil-Spec tier drops at roughly 79.92% (that rate is shared among the tier's skins), making it the most common pull — though the case has since left the active drop pool.
Nova | Tempest Patterns
No random roll applies to this finish. It's fixed, which means the paint-seed value doesn't touch the artwork and the wave-and-cloud print repeats the same on every copy. There's no rare seed or blue gem worth seeking, so wear is the only thing that sets copies apart.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There's a StatTrak Tempest as well, drawn from the Operation Bravo Case, which tacks on a permanent confirmed-kill counter that follows the item through trades and sales. A Souvenir version doesn't exist — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages, and this finish was never included in one.
Nova | Tempest Price
Field-Tested is the value grade of this finish, the cheapest of its three conditions while keeping the storm print clearly intact. It's the most accessible entry into a design that otherwise sits at the premium end of the Nova range. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Tempest look worn?
Only mildly. Because the finish caps at 0.22 float, its Field-Tested copies never reach the heavier wear that grade usually implies — you'll see light edge scratching at most, and the blue wave-and-cloud print stays vivid across the body. It reads clearly as Tempest with just a bit of honest character.
Is Field-Tested the best value Tempest?
For most buyers, yes. It's the cheapest of the three grades and, thanks to the low float cap, doesn't look much rougher than Minimal Wear. Since there are no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred versions to drop down to, Field-Tested is effectively the budget floor for this finish.
Why doesn't Tempest come in Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred?
The finish is float-capped at 0.22, and that ceiling falls within the Field-Tested band. The game can never roll a copy worn enough to reach Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred, so those grades simply don't exist for it — Field-Tested is the most weathered Tempest you can own.
