Nova | Tempest (Factory New)
The Nova | Tempest (Factory New) is a Mil-Spec shotgun skin printed with a blue wave-and-cloud motif. Factory New is the top grade, showing the storm-themed hydrographic at its most vivid and unbroken.
Design
Tempest wraps the Nova in a blue hydrographic depicting waves and clouds — a dramatic seaside-storm scene rather than a flat color or a logo. It's a Valve-made finish, and it fits its theme with the in-game line "A storm is coming."
Nova | Tempest (Factory New) Float and Wear
This finish's float runs 0.06–0.22, capped well below the usual range, and Factory New sits at the low end. At this grade the wave-and-cloud print stays saturated and unmarked, the blues reading deep and even across the body — the crispest the storm scene ever looks.
Nova | Tempest Rarity
Rarity here is Mil-Spec Grade, the blue tier — the entry rung of the colored weapon grades, above the plain white and light-blue base tiers. It's a common competitive-tier finish, easy to slot into a loadout.
Nova | Tempest Case and Collection
The finish is part of The Bravo Collection and drops from the Operation Bravo Case, released with Operation Bravo in September 2013. Within that case the Mil-Spec tier pulls at roughly 79.92% (a rate shared across the tier), making it the most common thing to unbox — though the case itself is long out of the active drop pool.
Nova | Tempest Patterns
The design is fixed, so the paint-seed index has no effect on how it looks — the wave-and-cloud hydrographic lands the same on every copy. There's no blue-gem seed or "best pattern" to hunt; only float and wear separate one from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak version of this finish exists, pulled from the Operation Bravo Case, adding a permanent confirmed-kill counter that carries over through trades and sales. There's no Souvenir edition — Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages, and this finish was never offered in one.
Nova | Tempest Price
Factory New tops this finish's short price ladder as the highest of its three grades, a clear step above Minimal Wear. Within the Nova lineup it lands at the premium end. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
What makes Factory New the best grade for Tempest?
At Factory New the blue wave-and-cloud print sits saturated and unscuffed, so the storm scene reads at full depth. Because the finish only spans three grades and caps at a low float, the difference between grades is subtle — but Factory New is the most vivid the hydrographic ever gets.
Which gloves match the Tempest?
The blue storm palette pairs best with cool-toned gloves — navy, slate, or blue-gray wraps echo the wave-and-cloud motif, while darker gray hand wraps keep the loadout grounded. Warm tones like orange or tan tend to fight the finish's ocean-storm mood, so it's best to keep the color scheme cool.
Is Tempest a rare skin?
Not by tier — it's Mil-Spec, the common blue grade, and the Mil-Spec slice of the Operation Bravo Case dropped at around 79.92%. What limits supply instead is age: the Operation Bravo Case left the active drop pool years ago, so new copies aren't being unboxed, and the market is where most now change hands.
