Nova | Rising Skull (Battle-Scarred)

Nova | Rising Skull (Battle-Scarred)

The Nova | Rising Skull (Battle-Scarred) is a Restricted shotgun skin with a white body and a matte-and-marker skull, in its most weathered condition. It's the cheapest way into the gothic design, trading surface polish for the lowest entry price.

Design

The design stays stark: a hand-drawn skull in matte paints and oil-based marker on a white finish, built on contrast rather than clutter. It's a community piece by the artist UFOsAreReal, complete with a lore-flavored in-game line — "Mr. Izaki, I'm not complaining... but how many shotguns do you need? - Imogen and The Oni, Part 1."

Nova | Rising Skull (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

Battle-Scarred marks the roughest end of the finish, with heavy scuffing and paint loss spread across the white base. Importantly, the skin is float-capped at 0.50 rather than the full 1.0, so its Battle-Scarred copies never reach the most extreme wear — the skull stays readable even at its worst, though the pale body shows the damage more plainly than a dark skin would.

Nova | Rising Skull Rarity

Rarity: Restricted — the pink tier and mid-to-upper on the standard weapon grades. It's an uncommon rarity, standing a clear step above the common blue and light-blue tiers most drops fall into.

Nova | Rising Skull Case and Collection

The finish is part of The Winter Offensive Collection and comes from the Winter Offensive Weapon Case, which debuted with the Winter Offensive update in December 2013. Restricted skins unbox at about 15.98% from the case (a figure shared across the tier). As an older case, its supply is fixed, so copies mostly move through the market rather than fresh pulls.

Nova | Rising Skull Patterns

Because Rising Skull runs a fixed design, the paint seed has no bearing on how the finish looks — the skull is placed the same on the white base of every copy. There's nothing like a blue-gem seed to chase; a copy's identity comes down to its wear and float alone.

StatTrak & Souvenir

You can find a StatTrak variant of this Nova too, dropped from the Winter Offensive Weapon Case, which brings a confirmed-kill counter; it's rarer and pricier than the standard skin, and the counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir version — Souvenir weapons come strictly from Major-tournament packages, and this case never featured as one.

Nova | Rising Skull Price

Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the skin — the entry-level way to run the gothic design for players who value the look over pristine condition. If you want a genuine Rising Skull for as little as possible, this is the way in. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is Battle-Scarred Rising Skull still recognizable?

Yes. Despite heavy scuffing on the white base, the skull artwork keeps the design readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear for the lowest price, not losing the look — the skull and its stark contrast still come through clearly.

Why doesn't Battle-Scarred Rising Skull look completely trashed?

Because the finish is float-capped at 0.50 instead of the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never reach the most extreme wear the scale allows. The white base does reveal damage more openly than a dark skin, but the skull stays legible even at the roughest grade.

Does Battle-Scarred Rising Skull come in StatTrak?

Yes. StatTrak copies drop from the Winter Offensive Weapon Case across every wear, so a StatTrak Battle-Scarred version exists. It adds a confirmed-kill counter that never gets wiped through trades or sales. There's no Souvenir edition, as those come only from Major-tournament packages.
