Nova | Sobek's Bite (Field-Tested)
The Nova | Sobek's Bite (Field-Tested) is a Restricted Nova skin with gold and black Egyptian artwork, here carrying honest everyday wear. Field-Tested is the most common grade and the go-to entry point into the design.
Design
The finish channels Sobek, the Nile's crocodile god: gold Egyptian motifs worked across a black base for an ornate, ancient-world look. It's the work of community artist apel8, and it comes with the flavor line "From the water comes chaos" to match its river-god theme.
Nova | Sobek's Bite (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
On the finish's full 0.00–1.00 float scale, Field-Tested sits mid-range and picks up light scratching along the edges and contact points. The gold detailing shows a touch more wear here than in the top grades, but the black base keeps the artwork reading strongly — this is the grade most players default to for the balance of look and cost.
Nova | Sobek's Bite Rarity
Rarity here is Restricted, the pink tier — high up the standard weapon ladder, a level above blue Mil-Spec skins. It's an uncommon grade with genuine desirability behind it.
Nova | Sobek's Bite Case and Collection
Part of The Anubis Collection from April 2023, this finish sits in the Restricted tier, which is pulled at roughly 15.98% from the Anubis Collection Package. That percentage spans the whole tier, so landing this exact finish in this exact grade is a fair bit rarer than the number alone suggests.
Nova | Sobek's Bite Patterns
No random roll factors in here. The finish is fixed, meaning the paint-seed value leaves the artwork untouched and the gold-on-black design repeats identically on every copy. There's no rare seed or blue gem to track down, so wear is the only real differentiator.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can get this in a regular finish or a Souvenir finish, but never with StatTrak — cases are the only source of that counter, and the Anubis Collection was never released as one. The Souvenir version started with the Paris 2023 Anubis Souvenir Package and continued through later Major souvenir packages.
Nova | Sobek's Bite Price
Field-Tested is the value grade of this finish, cheaper than the higher conditions while keeping the Egyptian artwork clearly intact. It's the most accessible way into a design that otherwise sits at the premium end of the Nova range. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested version look worn?
Somewhat, but not badly. Field-Tested brings visible edge scratching, and the bright gold linework shows it a little more than the black base does. Even so, the artwork stays legible and the contrast holds, so it still reads clearly as Sobek's Bite in-game — just with some honest character on it.
Is Field-Tested the best value grade?
For most buyers, yes. It costs noticeably less than Minimal Wear and Factory New while keeping the gold-on-black design fully readable, and it's the most common condition on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred go cheaper still if you're chasing the lowest price and don't mind heavier scuffing.
Where does Sobek's Bite come from?
It's part of The Anubis Collection, added in April 2023. The regular finish is obtained through collection drops and the market, while Souvenir copies came from Major-tournament souvenir packages beginning with Paris 2023. There's no weapon case for it and no StatTrak version, since StatTrak only comes from cases.
