Sawed-Off | The Kraken (Well-Worn)

Sawed-Off | The Kraken (Well-Worn)

The Sawed-Off | The Kraken (Well-Worn) is a Covert shotgun finish with a hand-painted octopus over an orange field, in its most worn available condition. Because the finish is float-capped, Well-Worn is the roughest grade it comes in — and the cheapest route into a grail skin.

Design

A community creation by Zaphk, The Kraken paints a sprawling octopus across the shotgun's warm orange body by hand, tentacles reaching around the frame for a striking, illustrative finish. Its in-game line is brief but on-theme: "It has been unleashed."

Sawed-Off | The Kraken (Well-Worn) Float and Wear

The finish is float-capped at 0.40, well below the usual 1.0, so Well-Worn is the top-worn grade and never reaches the extreme wear a full-range skin would — there's no Battle-Scarred here at all. Expect visible scratching and some paint thinning, but the octopus art stays recognizable, and the surface can't hit rock-bottom condition.

Sawed-Off | The Kraken Rarity

Rarity: Covert — the red tier, the highest of the standard weapon grades. It's a rare and coveted pull, and it remains the flagship finish for the Sawed-Off regardless of wear.

Sawed-Off | The Kraken Case and Collection

This skin is a member of The Winter Offensive Collection, dropping from the Winter Offensive Weapon Case released in December 2013. Covert is the case's rarest tier at about 0.64% (the figure is shared across the tier), and with the case retired from the active drop pool, supply is fixed — the market carries nearly all trading.

Sawed-Off | The Kraken Patterns

The look doesn't shift between copies — it's a fixed design, so the paint seed makes no difference and there's no blue-gem variant to seek out. What separates one Well-Worn copy from another is purely its wear and float.

StatTrak & Souvenir

You can find a StatTrak The Kraken that carries a confirmed-kill counter; it drops more rarely from the case than the ordinary skin, and its counter is permanent, never getting wiped when the item is traded or sold. A Souvenir version was never made, because Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages and this case wasn't a Major drop.

Sawed-Off | The Kraken Price

Well-Worn is the cheapest grade of the finish, since it's the most worn condition available — the lowest-cost way onto this grail Sawed-Off. That said, as a Covert it still carries high-end pricing, so even the entry grade is a serious buy. Available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is Well-Worn the most battered The Kraken gets?

Yes. The finish is float-capped at 0.40, so it never generates a Battle-Scarred copy — Well-Worn is the roughest grade in existence for it. Even here the surface stays milder than a full-range skin's worst wear, so the octopus artwork remains clearly legible in-game.

Is Well-Worn worth buying over Field-Tested?

Mainly if you want the lowest possible entry price on a grail finish. Field-Tested looks somewhat cleaner for a step up in cost, so many buyers prefer it. Well-Worn suits players who want to own The Kraken as cheaply as the skin allows and don't mind the visible wear.

Why doesn't Well-Worn The Kraken look completely trashed?

Because the finish tops out at a 0.40 float instead of the usual 1.0, its worst grade stays well short of extreme wear. The scratching and paint thinning are clear, but the dense octopus artwork and the low float cap keep the design readable and far from ruined.
