SG 553 | Basket Halftone (Battle-Scarred)

The SG 553 | Basket Halftone (Battle-Scarred, BS) puts the Industrial Grade orange halftone weave on the rifle in its roughest state. It's the cheapest way to add the pattern to a loadout.

Design

The finish is built from an orange halftone pattern laid down in crisscrossing rows across the receiver and handguard, a woven texture rather than a solid paint job. Valve created it, with the flavor line "Cross your hatch and hope to die" attached.

SG 553 | Basket Halftone (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

Battle-Scarred sits at the top of the finish's 0.00–0.60 float range, showing heavy fading and surface damage across the orange grid. Because the float never climbs past 0.60, this wear stays milder than a Battle-Scarred copy of a skin that reaches the full 1.00 — the pattern remains identifiable even here.

SG 553 | Basket Halftone Rarity

Rarity: Industrial Grade, the base tier of the standard rarity ladder and the most commonly produced grade overall. It's a big reason this finish is so accessible at any condition.

SG 553 | Basket Halftone Case and Collection

This finish is part of The Radiant Collection, which arrived with the Spring Forward update in March 2025. There's no case tied to the collection, so the market is where most copies are found.

SG 553 | Basket Halftone Patterns

Because the artwork is fixed, every Battle-Scarred copy shows the same orange grid in the same place — there's no paint seed variation or blue-gem version to hunt for on this skin. Float alone decides how rough a copy looks.

StatTrak & Souvenir

This finish has no StatTrak version and no Souvenir version at any wear. Souvenir status only comes from Major-tournament packages, and the Basket Halftone has never been included in one.

SG 553 | Basket Halftone Price

Battle-Scarred is the least expensive grade of an already budget finish, making it about as cheap as SG 553 skins get. It's the way to go for players who just want the orange pattern on the rifle for the lowest possible cost. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Does the Battle-Scarred Basket Halftone still look decent?

Reasonably. The orange grid takes on heavy fading and surface damage, but the pattern's basic layout stays visible, and since float never exceeds 0.60, it avoids the very worst extreme some skins reach at this grade.

Why doesn't this Battle-Scarred copy look fully destroyed?

The finish is float-capped below the maximum 1.00, so the wear never reaches the harshest possible level. Combined with a busy halftone pattern that hides some texture loss, it stays more legible than a plain solid-color skin would.

Is Battle-Scarred the cheapest way to get this skin?

Yes — it sits at the bottom of the Basket Halftone's price ladder, below Well-Worn (WW), Field-Tested (FT), Minimal Wear (MW), and Factory New (FN). It's the most budget-friendly entry point into this finish.
