SSG 08 | Blue Spruce (Battle-Scarred)

The SSG 08 | Blue Spruce (Battle-Scarred, BS) is a Consumer Grade bolt-action skin with a solid moss-colored paint job, seen here at its most worn. It's the lowest-cost way to own this finish's natural, understated look.

Design

This is a plain, panel-based finish — individual parts of the rifle spray-painted solid moss colors with no decal or graphic layered on. It's a Valve-made design built entirely on flat color rather than illustration.

SSG 08 | Blue Spruce (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

Float on Blue Spruce tops out at 0.8 rather than the full 1.0, so even Battle-Scarred here stays milder than the roughest condition seen on skins with an uncapped range. Expect heavy scuffing and worn edges across the body, but not the most extreme damage possible in the game.

SSG 08 | Blue Spruce Rarity

Rarity: Consumer Grade, the white and most common tier CS2 has, well below any of the scarcer weapon grades.

SSG 08 | Blue Spruce Case and Collection

The finish is part of The Safehouse Collection, tied to the Out with the old, in with the new update from November 2013, and it has no case of its own. It reaches the market through the collection and through Souvenir packages from Major events instead.

SSG 08 | Blue Spruce Patterns

The moss-colored panels are laid out identically on every copy, so Blue Spruce has no paint seed to chase and no "blue gem" outlier. Wear and float remain the only points of difference between copies.

StatTrak & Souvenir

There's no StatTrak edition of this finish, though a Souvenir version does exist, debuting in the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package and appearing again in a later Major souvenir package. Souvenir weapons are only ever issued through Major-tournament packages.

SSG 08 | Blue Spruce Price

Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade on the Blue Spruce ladder, the budget entry point into an already affordable mid-tier finish. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is Battle-Scarred Blue Spruce still recognizable in-game?

Yes. Even with heavy scuffing, the moss color scheme stays visible across the rifle, since the design never relied on fine detail that wear could erase. You're trading surface condition for the lowest price, not losing the look entirely.

Why isn't Battle-Scarred fully trashed-looking?

Because Blue Spruce is float-capped at 0.8 instead of the full 1.0, so its worst copies never reach the most extreme wear the game allows. That keeps even Battle-Scarred a bit milder than on skins with an uncapped range.

What's the cheapest way to own the SSG 08 | Blue Spruce?

Battle-Scarred is the lowest-priced grade available, sitting at the bottom of the finish's price ladder. Since the design is a flat, solid-color paint job, the difference in appearance versus pricier grades is smaller than on skins with fine detail work.
