Tec-9 | Brass (Minimal Wear)
The Tec-9 | Brass (Minimal Wear) is a Mil-Spec pistol finish that trades part of its black frame for a warm brass plating. One step down from the top grade, it keeps almost all of that shine for noticeably less.
Design
The concept is straightforward by Valve's own wording: sections of the weapon have been swapped for brass, playing that metallic tone off the Tec-9's factory black. Valve built this one, and the flavor text, "Fool's gold," plays into the idea of a shiny metal that's worth less than it looks.
Tec-9 | Brass (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
The finish runs the full 0.00–1.00 float range, and Minimal Wear sits just above the cleanest slice of it. The brass panels still show strong shine here, with only the lightest hint of dulling compared to a Factory New copy, so the look barely changes for a real drop in cost.
Tec-9 | Brass Rarity
This is a Mil-Spec Grade finish — the blue tier, most common among the standard weapon grades by classification. The rarity grade undersells how hard this particular skin actually is to get hold of.
Tec-9 | Brass Case and Collection
Brass is part of The Inferno Collection, dating back to the Arms Deal update in August 2013. No case ever carried it; the regular version comes through trading up collection pieces, and Souvenir copies land only in Major-tournament packages, with the Mil-Spec tier landing at around 79.92% odds from those packages.
Tec-9 | Brass Patterns
As a patina finish, Brass has no blue-gem-style rare pattern, though the metal texture does shift slightly by paint seed from copy to copy. It's a subtler thing to shop for than wear grade, but seed-conscious buyers do notice it.
StatTrak & Souvenir
No StatTrak version has ever been made for this finish. A Souvenir version does exist alongside the regular one, debuting in the ESL One Cologne 2014 Inferno Souvenir Package before turning up in several later Major souvenir packages as well.
Tec-9 | Brass Price
Minimal Wear sits just under Factory New on the price ladder, giving up a sliver of shine for a real discount. Thanks to the discontinued Inferno Collection backing it, the finish still lands in high-end, grail-tier company rather than typical budget pistol-skin pricing. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is Minimal Wear a good alternative to Factory New here?
Yes, for most buyers. The brass finish barely dulls between the two top grades, so Minimal Wear delivers nearly the same shine for less money. Only collectors chasing the absolute cleanest copy need to insist on Factory New specifically.
Why does a Mil-Spec skin cost this much?
The Inferno Collection has been out of active circulation since 2013, and the only new supply comes from Souvenir packages at Majors or trade-ups. That scarcity, not the Mil-Spec rarity label, is what keeps the Tec-9 | Brass priced well above typical blue-tier finishes.
Can I get a StatTrak Tec-9 | Brass?
No. This finish has never had a StatTrak release, so a confirmed-kill counter simply isn't an option here. It exists only as a regular finish and a Souvenir finish, both without the counter.
