USP-S | Whiteout (Battle-Scarred)

The USP-S | Whiteout (Battle-Scarred) is a Classified pistol skin in its most heavily worn condition, the white coat scuffed and grayed with use. It's the cheapest way into a grail-tier finish, trading surface condition for the lowest entry price on the ladder.

Design

Whiteout is minimalism taken to its limit — a flat, uniform white spray job over the entire USP-S, with no graphics, decals, or color accents whatsoever. It's a Valve in-house design that trades detail for stark simplicity, and it ships with a knowing in-game line: "It looks pure, but looks can be deceiving."

USP-S | Whiteout (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear

The finish runs a float range of 0.06–0.80, and Battle-Scarred occupies the very top of it. A key detail: the finish is capped at 0.80 rather than the full 1.0, so its Battle-Scarred copies never reach the most extreme end of the wear scale. Even so, on a solid-white base the damage is unmistakable — heavy scratching, grime, and paint loss give the pistol a dirty, grayed-out look. The design stays legible, but this is Whiteout at its roughest.

USP-S | Whiteout Rarity

Rarity: Classified, the pink tier. It ranks one step under Covert and second-highest among the standard weapon grades — an uncommon grade to unbox.

USP-S | Whiteout Case and Collection

The Battle-Scarred grade sits in The 2021 Train Collection, which came out with Operation Riptide in September 2021. As a group the Classified tier drops around 3.2% of the time (the rate is shared across the tier's skins), and because this operation-era collection is retired, the supply is finite — the market, not in-game drops, is where nearly all copies come from now.

USP-S | Whiteout Patterns

There's nothing random about how Whiteout is painted — the white coat covers every copy the same, meaning no paint seed, phase, or "blue gem" exists to chase. What separates one copy from another comes down entirely to wear and float.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak Whiteout has never existed. Since StatTrak weapons are minted from cases and this is a collection skin instead of a case drop, the kill-counter version was simply never made. Nor is there a Souvenir edition: Souvenir weapons are handed out only through Major-tournament packages, and the Train Collection has never been a Major drop.

USP-S | Whiteout Price

Whiteout is the top-priced USP-S finish, and Battle-Scarred is its cheapest grade — the entry-level way onto an otherwise grail-tier skin for players who care about the design more than the condition. FAQ

Is the Battle-Scarred Whiteout still recognizable?

Yes, though it's far from its bright, pure state. Heavy scratching and grime pull the coat toward a dirty gray, but the all-white base is distinctive enough that the finish still reads as Whiteout at a glance. This grade is about accepting obvious wear in exchange for the lowest price, not losing the look outright.

Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Whiteout reach maximum wear?

Because the finish is float-capped at 0.80 instead of the full 1.0, its worst copies stop short of the extreme end of the scale — the same cap that keeps Well-Worn from getting truly ragged. On a pale base the wear still looks heavy, but it never hits the absolute floor a full-range skin can.

Is Battle-Scarred the right pick for a budget buyer?

If cost is the deciding factor, yes. It's the least expensive way onto a grail-tier finish, and the all-white design stays identifiable despite the wear. Just go in expecting a visibly weathered, grayed coat — buyers who want the crisp monochrome should spend up to a higher grade instead.
