XM1014 | Red Python (Field-Tested)
The XM1014 | Red Python (Field-Tested) is a Mil-Spec shotgun skin with a red snakeskin hydrographic body. Field-Tested is the most common and budget-friendly way to run it, with a touch of honest wear on a pattern that shrugs it off.
Design
The shotgun is coated in a deep-red snakeskin hydrographic, its scales flowing across the receiver and stock for a striking reptilian finish. Valve designed it, and it carries a fitting bit of in-game lore: "I know you don't believe in the cause...and when I expose you, Valeria will have your head."
XM1014 | Red Python (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
Across a float band of 0.08–0.50, Field-Tested lands in the middle, picking up light scratching along the edges and the pump. The busy red scale pattern disguises most of it, so copies still read well at a glance. This is the grade most buyers reach for when they want the look without paying the top-grade premium.
XM1014 | Red Python Rarity
Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade, the entry blue tier of the standard weapon grades. Being the most frequently unboxed tier means plenty of copies circulate, keeping this an easy, low-cost pickup.
XM1014 | Red Python Case and Collection
Part of The eSports 2014 Summer Collection, the finish comes out of the eSports 2014 Summer Case that launched in July 2014. Mil-Spec skins as a group pull at about 79.92% from the case (the figure is shared across the whole tier), which is why the market has no shortage of them.
XM1014 | Red Python Patterns
No paint seed matters on this one: the red snakeskin lands identically on every copy, so there's no "blue gem" or rare seed to hunt. Wear and float are the only things that set copies apart.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There is a StatTrak™ edition that tracks confirmed kills, its counter minted by the eSports 2014 Summer Case; it drops more rarely and costs more, and that counter is permanent — it never gets wiped and follows the item through every trade. No Souvenir edition was ever made, since Souvenir weapons are produced only from Major-tournament packages, and this finish never appeared in one.
XM1014 | Red Python Price
Field-Tested is the value sweet spot of the range — cheaper than Minimal Wear while keeping nearly the same look, which keeps it squarely in affordable mid-tier territory. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Red Python look worn?
Only lightly. The finish picks up minor edge scratches at this grade, but the dense red scale pattern masks them well, so most copies read clean from playing distance. It's the practical middle ground: visibly a Red Python, without the price tag of the higher grades.
Is Field-Tested the best value?
For most buyers, yes. It costs noticeably less than Minimal Wear while looking nearly identical thanks to the busy pattern, and it's the most plentiful grade on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper still if you want the lowest entry price and don't mind heavier scuffing.
Is StatTrak available in Field-Tested?
Yes. A StatTrak™ version of this shotgun exists across the wear grades, Field-Tested included. It adds a live kill counter and costs more than the standard finish because it's a rarer drop from the eSports 2014 Summer Case. The counter is permanent and never gets wiped.
