The AK-47 — the Assault Rifle in game — is Rust's definitive weapon: the highest-damage automatic most players will ever craft, and the one worth putting a skin on. This page lists every Rust AK skin on sale at Skin.Land with live prices: over 230 finishes, from around $0.50 to the three-figure end of the market.
What Are AK-47 Skins in Rust?
An AK skin is a Steam Workshop design applied to the Assault Rifle. It is purely cosmetic — damage, recoil, rate of fire and magazine size are identical on every finish, so nobody gets an edge in a fight because of what their gun looks like.
Rust has no float, wear or StatTrak system, which makes this simpler than CS2: one design is one item at one price. Rarity comes from how long a skin has been out of the in-game store and how many copies are still circulating.
Best Rust AK-47 Skins
Glory AK47 is the grail at around $240 and almost always sits on a handful of listings. Alien Red follows at roughly $120, After Death AR at about $65, AK Royale at around $50 and AK-47 Victoria at about $45. Brass Lion at roughly $40 rounds out the top shelf.
The middle of the catalog is where most people buy: AK-47 From Hell at around $25, and a long run of clean finishes between $1 and $10. At the floor, Grim Garden AR, Shadowstrike AR, Steampunk AR and Heater AR all go for around $0.50 — a skinned AK for less than a cup of coffee. How Much Do Rust AK Skins Cost?
Around $0.50 at the bottom, $1–10 for the bulk of the catalog, $20–65 for the well-known designs, and roughly $120–240 for the two grails. Prices on Skin.Land sit below the Steam Community Market on the same skin, and what you get back when you sell is real money rather than Steam Wallet funds.
Main Characteristics of the AK-47 in Rust
The AK-47 is the strongest automatic rifle most players will hold in Rust, and the hardest to control. The numbers that matter:
- Damage. Around 50 to the body, and 100 or more on a headshot depending on range and the armour you are shooting at.
- Rate of fire. About 450 rounds per minute — fast enough to delete someone close up, slow enough that recoil control decides the fight.
- Magazine. 30 rounds, using 5.56 Rifle Ammo.
- Reload. About 4.4 seconds, which is long enough to lose a trade if you start it at the wrong moment.
- Effective range. Useful well past 200 metres, with bullet drop and recoil deciding what happens beyond that.
Recoil is the real skill gate. If you are still learning the spray, our Rust recoil patterns guide covers the current patterns.
How to Craft an AK-47 in Rust
Crafting the Assault Rifle needs a Level 3 Workbench and the following materials:
- 50 High Quality Metal. Smelted from HQM ore, or recycled out of components.
- 200 Wood. The easy part.
- 1 Rifle Body. Crafted at the same bench out of scrap and HQM, or pulled whole out of a recycler.
- 4 Metal Springs. The usual bottleneck — recycle gears, sewing kits and road signs for them.
The craft itself takes about a minute once you have the parts. You pick the skin at the crafting menu, or re-skin a rifle you already own with a Spray Can — see how to equip skins in Rust.

Rust AK-47 Skins FAQ
Do AK skins give an advantage in Rust?
No. Every Rust skin is cosmetic. Damage, recoil pattern, fire rate, reload time and magazine size are the same on a $0.50 finish and on the $220 grail.
What is the most expensive AK skin in Rust?
Glory AK47, at around $240 on Skin.Land, with Alien Red next at roughly $120. Both are retired designs that survive on a small number of listings, so the price moves on demand.
Why is the AK called AK47u on this page?
AK47u is the internal item identifier Rust uses for the Assault Rifle, which is why it shows up in the category address. In game and in every skin name it is simply the AK-47 or the Assault Rifle.
What is a good cheap AK skin?
Anything in the sub-$1 group — Grim Garden AR, Shadowstrike AR, Steampunk AR and Heater AR all look nothing like a stock rifle and cost around $0.50. There is no reason to run a bare AK.
Can I sell an AK skin for real money?
Yes. Tradable Rust skins can be sold through the Rust sell page at any time, with payouts to PayPal, card or crypto. If you are not sure what your inventory is worth, run it through the Rust inventory value checker first.
