New FAMAS Price CS2
One of two major FAMAS changes in 2025 is reducing the price. Previously, FAMAS old price was $2050, but now it is $1950. It makes FAMAS more affordable for defense during anti-force and eco rounds. According to Leetify, the popularity of FAMAS after the update increased by more than two times. However, after some time, you can see the dips in popularity. In terms of rivalry with MP9, FAMAS is better on long-range position, while the SMG has more impact in close distance.
FAMAS Accuracy CS2
The second major change in the FAMAS gun is the increase in its accuracy. In CS2, weapon accuracy is measured in meters. This represents the distance at which the weapon hits the target within a 30-centimeter diameter. After the buff, FAMAS has a maximum accuracy range of 19 meters, while before it was only 15.
You may think that it’s a small update, but it has a big impact on gameplay. Previously, FAMAS had less accuracy than even some pistols and SMGs. Now, it’s more accurate than the Galil AR and only slightly less accurate than the AK-47.
FAMAS Spray Pattern CS2
The FAMAS has more recoil than the M4, so it’s harder to control. At mid-range, limit your shots to 3-4 in a burst, as the first few stay tightly grouped and deal solid damage. For close-range, you can fire up to 8 shots in a burst. These shots are easier to control, with recoil mainly vertical and slight horizontal movement.
Avoid using the alternate fire mode. It has a slower rate of fire, recoil is almost uncontrollable, and even three body shots without armor won’t kill a full-health target. The alternate fire mode is only useful for trolling or showing off to your opponents.
FAMAS vs MP9
The main competitor of the FAMAS is the SMG MP9. And even after the first weapon's buff, the second still beats its competition. MP9 is way cheaper ($1250 vs $1950) and gives you more money for elimination ($600 vs $300). MP9 is a great weapon for close distance, which can help enemies while they’re entering site. But close distance means more risk of death, because you don’t have anything near by to hide. FAMAS is a great weapon for long distance and you have a chance to escape or hide. Mainly, you will buy it against eco or force rounds when enemies have pistols. Logically, a pistol has less chance for kill on long distance than on close (except deagle).
So in rivalry between FAMAS and MP9, the second one is still overall better option, but FAMAS has own special moments.
FAMAS vs Galil AR
After the buff and increasing maximum accuracy range, FAMAS has surpassed Galil in this metric. The Galil still has an even lower price tag, at $150. But in general, for T-side, it is more favorable to save up and take AK-47 or, for example, MAC-10. At the same time, the FAMAS is not as inferior to the MP9 as it used to be, although the M4A4 is still stronger and more useful than the French Rifle.
